Doesn't look like a bad way to get 50SCs, or 10,000 Qantas Points if you really needed some quickly (vs. the $388 top-up price).

Per the T&Cs:
Status Credits: 50 Status Credits will be credited to your account within three days of your completed application for a reward. Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer will not contribute towards any Loyalty Bonuses, or any Platinum or Platinum One Bonus Rewards. Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions.

Looks like they will count towards Lifetime Status.

Most of the tiers seem to be for buying something from the Qantas store. I've already offset some flights, so with a donation and home carbon offset I have 3/6. I think I then need to complete a quiz and buy something from the Qantas store with carbon neutral shipping and I've completed it.

It'll probably cost $100 all up for 50 SC so probably worth it 🤷‍♂️

And when things go astray or rewards not being credited to users account, you can just further flood the call centres.

This green hooplah just ticks a climate effort for QF.

A green 'eco' hotel, yeah built of sticks & run by a hamster in a wheel. Rightio.

If looking at the cost of these - attaining green should be relatively cheap based on my back-of-envelope calcs below:
  • Offset Flying - Offset a flight booked on Qantas.com; contribute to sustainable aviation fuel - offset $1-5 for domestic routes
  • Sustainable Travel - Stay in a eco hotel - I can see this going one of two directions. Either it'll be a joint marketing venture with Accor around their Planet 21 program and trigger when QFF points post from the new QF/ALL tie-up, or it might be a Qantas Hotels thing with Tripadvisor GreenLeaders properties. Qantas Hotels already integrates Tripadvisor ratings into the engine, but doesn't seem to have any way to filter down on eco friendly properties at present.
  • Sustainable Lifestyle - Offset your Home and Car; purchase solar panels - $50-100 per person based on table below
  • Choose Sustainable - Purchase wine from an eco vineyard; offset Qantas Wine or Qantas Store delivery - I thought Qantas Wine used AusPost... and MyPost Business is already carbon neutral:rolleyes: But worst case the offset is $1-2 max if already buying alcohol.
  • Reduce Your Impact - Take our impact quiz to learn how - how much do you value your time...
  • Give Back - Contribute to a sustainability organisation or project - I would guess this to be a 1000 point or $10 donation to Qantas Future Planet
So possibly less than $100 if going for the cheapest qualification route.

Revisiting this now we have more info, previous calcs look about right.

Offset flying - seems this can only be added at the time of booking now? In any case, $1-10 depending on route
Sustainable travel - don't bother with this category unless you need to book a hotel anyway
Sustainable lifestyle - Offset your household emissions, cost varies as mentioned above, $50-100 seems to be about the average for a small household
Choose sustainable - Add a $1 Rewards Store climate positive delivery to your "Give back" donation below
Reduce your impact - No monetary cost
Give back - 3200 points to donate $25 to any of the listed charities (no cash option)

So best case scenario around $50 and 3200 points, seems reasonable for 50 SC.

I think this means you could get 50SC (which counts towards lifetime) every year you havent qualified for Green for quite a low price if you do the bare minimum. Worth it with a low cost strategy I reckon.

Plus the marginal cost of a QF flight over alternative carriers.

Presumably anyone chasing Green tier and/or 50 SC is already flying with Qantas at least once (or more likely four times for the swiggles) each membership year, so the cost of choosing Qantas above other carriers doesn't really come into it.

Anyone found a sweet spot for sustainable hotel? Wondering if those unflexible hotel vouchers of PC PC+ could find an usage before they expire. What more sustainable way to travel would be to book a hotel stay that ends up as a noshow?

It's easy to imagine the whole world is in the same position. I would look at the offer and see 10,000 points available for redeeming at some point on a groovy award flight. I do not fly domestically or for business - and if I did, I'd be using another carrier. I do not chase SCs.

I’m Unable to find the sustainability quiz on the Qantas well-being app. Anyone able to find it?
I had to close (not minimize) the app to see the quiz at the top. Also looks like it was updated in the last day or so, so check you got that.

Thank you. Found it. Did the quiz and got 4/9 correct & 100 QF points

If going for a 1 night mattress run, the Crystalbrook Albion is the cheapest for around $265 a night based on what I seen so far for a city stay. Qantas vouchers can be used.

That would probably be worth it. Over many years if it counts to lifetime status it would help with progress to LTG.

I'm not sure the equations stack up for you - the actual earn would be 6800 points once you factor in the 3200 point charity donation.
