Does anyone know if transactions in A$ but processed by an overseas merchant are processed as an international transaction ?

It's on the same page:

Pay no international transaction fees on purchases or cash advances you make overseas or in Australia (for example online) where the merchant or financial institution or entity processing the transaction is located overseas.

Just to clarify ….. can the points earned with the CommBank ultimate card be used to convert to airline FF programmes - specifically KrisFlyer or Virgin? The CommBank website seems ambiguous

I’m not otherwise a CommBank customer. Looking to drop my QF Macquarie Black card but want to retain the no international transaction fees facility

Yes, kind of. But it doesn’t give redemption rates and it doesn’t list the other airlines. KLM, United & Qatar is mentioned but that doesn’t add up to ten.

As others have said, the transfer partners are not all that transparent (unless you already have a CommBank card) and can change at any time.

CommBank Awards Isn't Ideal for Frequent Flyers

There are many credit cards in Australian that offer better value and more transparency to frequent flyers than CommBank Awards cards.
