Sydney to Maldives transfer in Singapore

Hi everyone,
Im travelling from Sydney to the Maldives and redeemed a QF business flight to Singapore and a SQ flight from Singapore to Male. I booked separately on points with each airline. My flight from Sydney arrives in to Singapore in the afternoon and my flight to the Maldives is the next morning. Do you know if they can transfer my bags? I want to avoid going through customs and booked the airside hotel. I can’t seem to get a straight answer online and the phone wait times are crazy.

On the way home, both flights are with SQ but on separate bookings. I assume this would be OK to check all the way through?

Thanks. It seems strange that SQ is not on the list of approved transfer carriers for Qantas when in Singapore though!
