Hi All

I'm travelling on 17th of January on Two Separate tickets. Booked these after Singapore announced easing of restrictions to UAE.

EK354 - Dubai to Singapore (Emirates)
SQ227 - Singapore to Melbourne (Singapore Airline)

1. Is it possible to send through baggage direct to Melbourne?
2. If not, does Singapore airlines have a transfer desk to avoid going through immigration?

Struggling to find the answer to both questions and cant afford going through immigration at Changi as I will be hit with a stay at home notice.

Thank you all in advance.

Elis

I have booked (on one ticket) to fly Rome-Frankfurt-Singapore (LH) and Singapore-Sydney-Melbourne (QF) but am not clear on the requirements in Singapore.

The connection at Singapore is 3.5 hours that may be a bit tight?

Another option is to stay overnight at Singapore and take the direct QF flight to Melbourne the following day.

I am not sure if this is possible or allowed under the current rules at Singapore.

We would be happy to stop in Singapore (at our expense) for 24 hours if this is possible. What would happen if we missed our connection (LH 778 to QF 82) in Singapore?

Thanks for any assistance. Paul in Melbourne

As LH and QF have a baggage interline agreement, and if you really are booked on the one ticket, then you should have no problems. Your baggage should be checked all the way through to MEL, and you have no need for the transfer desk, or to go landside.

If all on one ticket, and you miss the connection, then it will be LH's problem to accommodate you and find you alternative flights to your destination. Provided it was LH delay that caused you to miss the connection (not something like a QF82 cancellation), then this would fall under EU361, and you would likely be eligible for compensation as well.
