Where do you credit rental car points

Just wondering where people typically credit points from rental car hires to. For an Australian rental there is typically a rate of 3 points per dollar of the base rate (excluding all the +++ that goes with rentals) if crediting to Qantas or 4 points per dollar for Europcar to Velocity.

For other programs (e.g. overseas programs), there is a fixed number of points per rental, that would seem to give more points per rental, especially when on a short term rental.

So, where do your points go?

Short rentals:
Hertz - 1,500 BMI miles/rental (+200 if booked via web)
Europcar - 250 Hilton HHonors points/rental, 500 LH M&M miles/rental or 500 Etihad miles/rental

Long rentals:
Europcar - 60 AA miles/day or 4 Velocity/$

NB I haven't used these (yet):
Avis - 1000 Virgin Atlantic miles/rental

I've been creditng Hertz to bmi at 1700 a rental. Great when you consider QF normal give 200-300 points on a similar booking!

I've also been creditng my *A flights to their program.

I think my views on class of travel are quite clear.

As an example SYD-HKG return requires 45,000 Flying club miles for WHY, 54,000 miles for premium economy and 80,000 miles for Upper class. Why would I redeem an Upper class return award when for a few extra miles I can get 2 economy return awards albeit with limited availability? To me 2 return trips are way more important than sitting in a business class seat for 1 return trip.

I will find a way to use the Flying club miles for a WHY/premium economy return award SYD-HKG one day. Perhaps nest them with an SQ WHY return award BKK-SYD. Where there is a will there is a way....

I made a booking in Feb with 1 1/2 weeks notice and didn't have any probs with availability, but there wasn't a LOT to choose from. Other classes were a little easier.

Especially with their promo recently where they had a sale on ecconomy redemptions - 33000 (ish) I think from memory

Having said that though, the last time I flew VS to HKG I redeemed for premium ecconomy there, then upgraded again to Upper Class on the way back.

I have been looking at getting a SYD-HKG return in February next year and I can get over to HKG on some weekdays but nothing available to return to SYD. Maybe best to look again much closer to the date.

I usually credit direct to QF (Avis mostly), with Europcar going to Velocity.

I've been having some issues getting long rentals with Avis credited to QF.

Looking at getting more points shifted to AAdvantage - at 50 base miles/day, I'll put my next long rental there.

NB, I've never had Australian Europcar rentals appear in my AA, even though it's listed in the booking. No problems with the European site, or the NZ site, since they use a different booking system. YMMV though.

I have been renting Hertz quite a number of time last year and this year. All of them go to BMI and have had no problems. In fact, I got the points even I used AAA NRMA discount coupon!

The Hertz BMI miles from 10/04-13/04 appeared in my BMI in the last few hours.

Two lots of 500, and one lot of 1500. I must have booked some of them via hertz.com.au and not via the BMI web transfer link. One of them was booked via the phone though, since they couldn't confirm the car online.
