Australian state border restrictions

Yesterday +1 and I traveled through 3 states (NSW, Vic and SA) without any problems. We didn't even have to stop at the fruit checkpoint 😂
Could this be some sort of record?
Brother came through yesterday and got the obligatory fruit fly check at Yamba. That was about 11am

Which is pretty much ended now. As someone on SA Health FB posted, “ok to bring in Covid, but do not bring in Fruit Fly”. 😂
Still some areas of concern in the Plympton, Camden Park area. PIRSA still running a huge number of home inspections and eradication

Opening in a month?

But even if it does open in February it will only be for a short time as this hospital situation will mean back to locked borders due to a public backlash due to his long fear campaign.

Quite possible. I suspect before opening the restrictions will be ratcheted up to 11, making any but the most essential of travel effectively impossible.

I am currently planning three trips in the next 3 months.

3 days in Sydney
4 days in Perth
4 weeks in Turkey, Croatia, Malta, Spain and Ireland.

Guess which trip I am about to cancel

Of course not. He'll be cancelling the OS component to allow more time for quarantining in Perth. No brainer!
Funny you say that as one idea if the overseas trip doesn't happen is to go to Perth and cop the rules they have there. But the irony is I think they will be pretty harsh (if they can keep a cap on numbers) in 14 day isolation and with a GP in the family home I don't think a 4 week trip to Perth will be free of isolation!

NT abandons PCR tests prior to arrival, as per the ABC live blog. Interestingly the NT will hand them out for free to arrivals.

Once people come into the Territory, they'll be given at RAT test (yep, even if they come by road)

They'll have two hours to conduct that test and will need to log that result via an online declaration form and carry on with their trip if it's a negative result.

If it's positive, they'll have to isolate.
