Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

I also read that many of the hospitalisations weren't for Covid at all but that it was discovered as part of the testing screening regime for entry.
When you have endemic covid you're going to get a lot of people in this situation, it's also been reported this is the case in the UK too.

It's the scenario where someone is killed in a motor vehicle accident but their death is counted as a Covid-19 related fatality as they had an asymptomatic case.

Aren't deaths from Covid in the UK counted if they had tested positive in the previous 28 days, recovered but killed in a car accident for instance? A little like finding prostate cancer in aged men who died from a completely different cause.

Based on the data above, one wonders that if Vic had doubled the number of tests, whether they would have seen an appreciable rise in infection rates to rival NSW.

Qld numbers: 369 yesterday

Feel sorry for the 16-32 families (based on 10-20% of NSW testing and 1/1000 being positive) that would have got a positive and would be refused entry interstate.

Is there any indication of what percentage of the NSW cases are double vaxxed?

Vic changes from 11:59 tonight:

Facemasks in all indoor settings except homes
All outdoor events with 30k crowds or above will also require masks

Cricket!

That idiot in SA who allegedly went clubbing and kissing after being told he was positive seems to have created his own outbreak and put many of his friends into isolation over Christmas and their famillies. And why did he get tested in the first place? A close contact who didn't isolate? Trust he's enjoying Toms Court.

At least that person at Tom's Court got a better outcome than the person in Tassie - 6 months jail minimum (3 for covid breaches)

From the latest NSW Health surveillance report (to 4/12)

Fully vaxxed is 10% of positives, 7.5% of hospitalisation, 4.4% of ICU for the period 16/6-4/12

I'll come back in a few minutes with the weekly differential
Weekly differential 28/11 to 4/12

Fully vaxxed percentage of positives: went from 9.2% to 10% because that week was 42% (735/1765)

Fully vaxxed percentage of ICUs: went from 4.2% to 4.4% because that week was 20% (4/20)

Fully vaxxed percentage of hospital: went from 7.1% to 7.5%, but hard to give a figure because NSW Health is cleanse the hospital data and removing duplicates or something like that, but as a guesstimate maybe 20-25% would make the percentage rise by 0.4%

Still pending as it only happened last week and still active. He's saying he didn't get the text last Friday night, but then reportedly showed others in the club the result. Kissed girls and didn't tell them. The nightclubs heard the rumours of a positive clubbing that night and several just closed up very early. This guy then went to breakfast at a cafe next morning but said that was ok as he was outside. He has been identified as being the son of one of SA's wealthiest families and attended private schools (irrelevant of course) but the media won't release his name. However The Advertiser needs to be more careful as a Google search showed a cached by line with his name with a warning DO NOT USE WITHOUT SPEAKING TO SIMON CROSS . His friends are likely angry as now they can't go anywhere and have to keep getting tested. The girls he kissed have so far tested negative.

I don't think it's over for him yet - he's all lawyered up - talk is the girl he was kissing is suing because she isn't able to spend Christmas with her family
