Really great to see that VA has not only found its feet but appears to be on the path to long term survival and growth.
I believe the 20 or is it 25 brand new MAX10’s will start arriving in early to mid 2023 so will be interesting to see where things go from here

I spoke with Velocity very recently to use my plat comp upgrade.
The person I spoke to mentioned they don't get told much any more because they cant keep their mouths shut and tell customers everything haha.
Though they did mention that they are investing heavily into aircraft.

Jetstar Australia I meant I guess. When Bain did the rounds of firing and fleet downsizing it took VA2 to below the size of JQ Australia, but I guess a ‘like for like’ comparison would be to count all domestic plus the select routes VA2 plans to try and return to…
 
The only downside for Bain is possibly a bit of egg on their faces. A reason Paul Scurrah was reportedly moved on was disagreement over fleet size. Starting sound like he was totally right.

My tip is 7 or 8. Order most likely in 15-18 months at the earliest.

6 for East Coast-LAX and plane no 7 for HND and no 8 as spare/peak hour East Coast/NAN.

Any plans for some/all of the MAX10’s on order to have lie flat J seating?
Yes the original story was lie-flat for transcon.

I don't think we will see widebody back on domestic but the MAX10s they will absolutely make work BIG time between Perth and the east coast (assuming travel is open and free etc). Think about it, if smaller European airlines can make money trans-Atlantic with the likes of the A321LR in various configs then VA should be able to make the same work in Perth.

Could even use them for short haul international. Reckon there would definitely be demand for them on Fiji route and with GA pretty much disappearing they could find some Bali work from the East Coast
 
I would say VA are very lucky that GA has pulled out of Australia-DPS for the foreseeable future. Considering GA were reported to have just as bad (if not worse) aircraft leases than VA Mk 1.0

My understanding is they are really going to end up with the same amount of staff and the same amount of airplanes.

Bad contracts is what their issue was and the administration process would have resolved a lot of that.

Not from what was publicly presented by PS, but if you have inside information on what the true plan was, do tell!

Since our local AFF resident insider and expert got tangled up with conflicts they haven’t been able to share much recently and we are all really out of the loop 😂
