Getting Both AZ & Pfizer

Were you aware of what sort of results they got?

No I'm sorry I don't specifically, I should have said that. But many went and got a booster way before the guidance issued (as I've posted a few times on here separately). So I imagine they were well into the Pfizer fade. But that would be me inferring that conclusion.

I know in the NT it’s over 69 can’t look after any patients during Covid, over 59 can’t look after respiratory patients and over 49 can’t do AGPs on Covid patients
So, not based on ability? 😟

Has anyone had serology done to test their anti-body levels before going for a booster?

When I've been due for boosters for other vaccines in the past I was able to get a blood test to see if was truly needed.
Are these widely/easily available? I would be keen to have one to understand my anti-body levels from my first jab and whether or not I need to stress about a second jab.

Well second jab needed to be considered fully vaxed and have travel and hospitality privileges. But for 3rd Jab id be curious to know my levels before the booster and then a month after the booster.

I'm not sure how easy this testing is to get for covid, but very simple if you want to test for MMR or Hep B, GP orders blood test requesting antibody levels for vaccines you are due for, report comes back in a couple of days. I had Hep B vaccine (3 doses) in 10th Grade but was years overdue for a booster when setting off for South America 20 years later. Standard recommendation in this situation is to get a full course again, but the GP said I could get serology done to see if I could just get by with a booster or none at all.

Gee that's a bit severe.
I have been looked after very well by the hospital here and kept out of the line of fire.
Hopefully the ward I work on won't have any covid patients. It is only the surge covid ward.Tassies modelling is quite likely to be like other States and a worst case scenario. The ward will certainly not have sick covid patients.
On top of that my registrar for the time I have remaining has finished his training but is staying on until March when a consultant's job becomes available. Guess who will be going in to see any covid positive patients. ;)

Ostensibly no allowances for ability etc or other carve outs but appears to become a guideline rather than a policy at points of desperation. I assume they’d take the hit on workers comp etc if those “excluded” ended up working and got sick

I was reading the ATAGI guidelines today. They’re pretty clear that serology testing is not a worthwhile thing to do as no evidence that serology is indicative of overall vaccine response

Plenty of other vaccines where we give boosters without knowing antibody levels- pertussis is the primary one but there are others

Also it’s not been policy anywhere to restart courses for some time. It should only be single doses of boosters unless there is a specific test (eg for HepB surface antibody) that does indicate response and is measurable
