First time visitor and poster, so if I have this wrong apologies.

I am 90 Status Credit Points away from Lifetime Gold.

Given COVID over last 18 months flying has basically stopped.

So I am looking at alternate ways to gain status credit points.

I came across BP spend $50 over 5 times in a specific time period and you get 50 status credit points.

So we've been focusing on that. Until today.

Today I read for the first time small print that says any status credit points do not count to platinum, platinum plus, lifetime status etc. Etc.

So what's the point accumulating status credit points if they are not able to be used for topping up your status credit points????

They count towards reaching/attaining status but not status bonuses or lifetime status

So the SCs from BP will help you attain or retain Gold status, but won't count towards Lifetime Gold.

The current QF Platinum MC signup offer includes 80 SCs after 1 eligible spend.

I don’t know if they count towards LT status but that’s probably discussed in other threads or hopefully someone else will pipe up.

There‘s also 80k QFF points after $4k spend in 1st three months.

$225 annual fee (1st year) is cheaper than the BP offer and more SCs. But probably only of interest if you get that LT counter ticking over.

Refer to this thread for discussion of the BP offer: 50SC on offer with BP

If you are going to be buying petrol anyway - can't hurt to try to get those SCs, just to see if they do end up counting. And if they do, don't publicise it too widely :)

My 80 status credits from this card posted on Sunday and I can confirm that they did add to my LT status.

In the other thread mentioned, ChrisMars states that the BP offer of 50 sc does count to lifetime status. I’m expecting my 50 sc any day, will let you know if mine get added to lifetime status.

Finally they came through, and did count to lifetime status.

Confirm the 50 SC are added to lifetime status, now I've only got 59,981 to accrue for LTP.
Only 54,442 to go but not holding my breath in case I die even longer before I get to LTP!

OT, but there‘s a whole thread here of the many who cracked 28,000 LTSC (ie double LTG) hoping for a special treat and got zip, nada, nothing. When LTP was announced at 75k, there was more than a few pearls clutched and expletives uttered…😳

Has anyone signed up with qantasmoney only to not receive the 80SC?

I got a Qantas Premier cc during the 'previous' promo, where I was promised 80 SC after the first spend but still waiting for the SC to flow through. Was told today they take 6 -8 weeks after the minimum spend is hit, not after the first purchase (which seems to differ in wording from the original offer).

I spoke to them today and they said from first spend. That said my first spend exceeded the $3500 so it’s one and the same.

Apparently I was told it would probably be credited next week. This is my 2nd time with qantasmoney and they don’t seem to have improved.

Interesting. I think $3500 is for the current promotion (90k points only), the previous September promotion was $4000 min spend for 80k points + 80k status credits. Might be worth confirming what promotion you're tied to

Correction - in the first day I spent $4809 (19 Aug).

I got my SC and they counted towards my lifetime SC so I'm like 30 points from lifetime gold now.....feel like the Hawaiian marathon runner close to finish..
So dehydrated falling short..

.
There you have it @Parawaiting Paul - you can't always trust the Qantas T&Cs ;)
Hey, got mine and they counted towards my lifetime credit points, so close to lifetime gold now...

Now, 8 weeks and 6 days after my original spend, still no status credits from my Qantas Premier Platinum MasterCard - is anyone in the same boat? I'm hesitant to sit on hold for an hour or so to talk to Citibank.

I thought I'd share what's happening with this in case someone else is having a similar experience.

I have made a formal complaint with Citibank and have raised a complaint to the Ombudsman. I am now getting weekly updates by phone from Citibank, per the Ombudsman requirements. Apparently, Citibank doesn't know why the points are not applied to accounts, and they are chasing this up.

Thanks for the update MikeG, shame it had to get escalated to the Ombudsman but good to hear Citibank is chasing them up. I think I might have to follow a similar process to you if I don't get my points soon!
