Qantas Lounges will begin reopening from 1 November 2021

I tickets to LHR and SIN booked for next week and have some lounge passes I want to use for other people in my booking. At the moment, the passes are showing, but no flights... I assume that the system is waiting for the international lounges to reopen, before allowing me to attach the passes. Any thoughts from those who know better? Been so long I cannot remeber what it used to look like.... :)

Looks like Qantas will open an international lounge in Darwin by taking over the Catalina lounge.

In other news the Los Angeles and London lounges won't open (Edit - until December).

In Los Angeles elgible customers will be sent to the Star Alliance lounge whilst in London it'll be the British Airways lounge in T3.

I find it odd they're using the BA lounge when the Emirates lounge is available and apparently open 5:30am to 10:30pm and I guess the old policy of QF First Class (currently not offered) or QF Chairman's lounge being allowed in would still apply.

I have been advised (VIP team) that the lounges will open on 1 Nov with the F lounges opening initially so SG and J travellers will be able to access. I was also advised that the current plan is to reopen the J lounges on 1 Jan but this is not confirmed and will be based on demand.

I presume this post refers to domestic only?

The release notes they will open in December.
Ah yes, missed that. It also says other locations will open when flights resume. I guess that means Singapore next on 24 November (unless they bring that forward due to the VTL recently announced).

@tallboy I can only confirm what I have been told by the QF agent from the VIP team which was the MEL and SYD F lounges were opening on 1 Nov. For the record I do not work for QF or personally know any agent from the VIP team, my information is only based on what they are willing or allowed disclose or mention during a standard interaction. I am not flying out of MEL on 1 Nov so am not concerned, I would also assume if QF do not have flights out of MEL on 1 Nov the lounge is unlikely to be open and will open in line when they start flying from MEL.

Understood.

Quick question. Received some complimentary Club vouchers which I will transfer to son and wife. They can take in their 2 year old without him needing an invite into Sydney International lounge if they booked this flight through Qantas website?

Not all club vouchers are equal. Some are ok for International Lounges, some are domestic only.

Child may be subject to discretion of lounge entry attendants.

Further to @serfty comments looking at the date of travel 20 Dec they could possibly run into issues if the international J lounge is not open. There were reports when only the F lounge was open for travel to NZ or the Dom J lounges were open lounge passes could not be linked as the Int J or Dom QP were not open. The QF systems were not capable of dealing with linking a pass to a flight when the lounge was closed, ET ran an article indicating that QF were working on this but not sure if it was ever dealt with.
