Singapore opening Vaccine travel lane at airports to:
US
UK
Canada
Denmark
France
Italy
Netherlands
Spain
South Korea
Brunei
Germany
Hong Kong
Macao

But the vaccinated from those countries using those lanes must have a Covid negative test and if eligible will not have to quarantine

A new passenger Status level may be created. eg P1CV - Platinum One Covid Vax

This is disappointing.....why aren't we included?

Even Malaysia is not included even though I saw on the news recently the country is 90% vaccinated...

It's like they're still mad for being expelled from the federation

possibly because such agreements usually require a quid pro quo - you scratch my back I scratch yours?

Do you mean it’s because we aren’t yet letting foreigners into Australia when we open in November?

Do you mean it’s because
I dont know.
Look at the language SingGov used - the VaxLanes were a result of bilateral agreements. The answer is in the "agreements".

All those countries approved for VaxLanes alsoallow free travel from Sing to those countries

And look at the the reason SIN (airport exists) - its an international travel hub.

I think Australia should have tried harder for this to happen. A lot of us rely on transfers and connections in Singapore. It's also possible some Australians haven't read this article and won't know of this arrangement or lack of it and get themselves into a mess when they transfer in Singapore.

The message I am getting is not to fly anywhere via Singapore or with Singapore Airlines at the moment.

Why?
SIN (Changi) has very fair Covid transit arrangements .

Need a Negative PCR Covid test within 48hrs of departure before arriving in SIN

If departing from a Category 1 or II country - Neg PCT test, unlimited roaming and patronage of SIN Changi
If departing from a Category III or IV country - Neg PCR test, have to wait at a transit holding area (THA). for next flight -basically like a large "gate area" - can still do duty free, but catering is via vending machines. Participating airlines can use a separate THA that acts like a lounge.

Australia is a Category II country for the purposes of transit/transfer and is allowed to transfer to SingAir
If arrival into SING is approved then need to do a PCR test on arrival and quarantine 14 days.

Remember the Vax Lanes only applies to entry into SING. It is not relevant for transiting or transfers.

I’m sure you’re right, but to me it sounds complicated and an unfriendly and uncomfortable arrangement.

Thanks for your insights.

So, if I am arriving into SIN on QF and transferring to a flight with QTR (on a different ticket) will I be able to easily transit in SIN?

will I be able to easily transit in SIN?
Have you checked out this from Changi Airport?

Basically just use Transfer Desk C in T1 to transfer your bags. Both QR and QF use T1

As you are travelling from AU, so long as you have CovidSwab negative you can roam around the terminal as per usual.

Make sure you have the International CovidVax cert

Though “Easily” is a difficult one to answer

Note again Covid Vax Lanes are only for entry into Singapore

Raising this thread again, we're thinking about a QF ticket to SIN, then possible TG or SQ onto coughet to sandbox for a week. Issue is QF won't interline on a different ticket to SQ or TG. With this in mind, I guess we'll only be able to take hand luggage only, otherwise we'd need to clear passport control and actually enter Singapore, grab our bags and recheck in, which is not what we're wanting to do. Anyone got any thoughts there?

TIA

Yea - that's what I was worried about :-(. So no mixed ticket/carrier usage. DAMN.
Might be a situation where a human travel agent could help. I think there are a few agents who can do very complex itineraries but would definitely need to be able to interline any bags
