I recently booked a flight from San Francisco to Townsville in late June with Priceline but now the worry bug has hit and I'm wondering if the times are even possible. This is my first time booking/flying alone and I may have overlooked time it will take to arrive and get to the next terminal. It was somewhat of a panicked buy (only flight in timeframe i wanted and selling quickly) so I blame myself for not looking it through thoroughly.

The times are below. The one I'm concerned about is Arrival/Departure at Brisbane.

I can't find any documentation that tells me where terminal '3' is at BNE. Would that be in the Domestic terminal?

Also, I will have 1 carry-on bag and 1 checked bag. SFO > SYD is United which is 'Qantas Partner Flight'. Will they transfer my checked bag to next flight or will I have to pick it up and drop it off myself?

Do you think I will be able to make it?

I apologize for not knowing what I'm doing. :( Any help would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks - Kevin

kr580, Welcome to AFF :D

T3 is actually SYD T3.

If it's all on the one booking then you will be protected.

Your luggage will be checked through, however you will need to collect it in SYD. You will land in SYD T1, the international terminal. You will need to pass through immigration, collect your bags and head though customs. You then need to walk up the other end of the arrivals terminal to the Qantas "Seamless Transfer" area where your bags will be collected as you recheck for Brisbane. There will be a short wait for a complimentary bus which will take you through to the Qantas domestic terminal (T3).

More here under "Transfer between Terminals:":

Thank you. :)

And yes, I mixed myself on the terminals. Now the question is will I make it from BNE Int'l to Dom and be checked-in in time? I'm completely ignorant at what the steps are between arriving and departing. :(

Hi kr580, by the looks of your flight numbers for the SYD-BNE and BNE-TSV legs they are both on Qantas domestic flights. Brisbane only has the one domestic terminal and since you will arrive into that terminal from Sydney (with baggage checked through to Townsville) you should have no dramas at all. I'd talk to the host staff on the plane and tell them you are catching an onward flight that you need to get to 45 mins after arrival and see what they say - if they think it will be tight they can phone the Brisbane checkin desk and let them know you're on your way, slightly delayed, etc. Also if you're really running late they can let you get off the flight first ahead of everyone else to help you make it.

Good luck.

Ah! Thank you. That explains it great for me. For some reason I was thinking I would arrive in international terminal at Brisbane. So looks like I'm set!

See, I have a habit of worrying then getting myself confused, lol. I'm not the smartest one.

Thanks much. :D
