If you book a J award (business class) you would get lounge access based on class of service. But not through Qantas Club membership.
And also if you book a JAL premium economy ticket or award. (That comes with complimentary lounge access... or at least did before covid!)
JAL premium economy is a real sweet spot.
I was wondering about that. I do recall that paid JAL PE fares did include lounge access before covid.
So JAL premium economy awards also/still include lounge access? Pretty good if so!
$2200 return in PE?Seems access is based on class of service and the only restriction I can see is that PEY fares through 'upgrading at the airport' are not permitted lounge access: https://www.jal.co.jp/en/inter/service/lounge/member/class.html
JAL's paid fares were such a steal at $2200 return from Australia to Europe that redeeming points was hardly worthwhile!

$2200 return in PE?
JAL's PE is exceptional so that would have been a great deal!
If travelling SYD-HND-LHR the layover is 6-7 hours if travelling JL52/41 or overnight JL52/43 (still a through fare). From MEL it is more tricky as it involves an airport change from NRT to HND.Yup. Around $2200 give or take. Basically QF domestic J, including lounge access, for a return to Europe. Can't remember if there was a catch like a long layover one way in Tokyo, or changing airports or something in Tokyo.
