If flying TG can a QC member access the Thai Lounge?
Do you gain status points flying with a oneworld carrier?
Can you upgrade on a oneworld flight using Qantas FF points?

Cheers CM

No you cannot access the Thai lounge as a QC member unless off course you are flying business class or first class.

If you are a Qantas Platinum then you can access the Qantas Business Lounge before a departure with a non-Oneworld carrier.

Do you gain status points flying with a oneworld carrier?
Yes, if it is an eligible flight according to the terms and conditions.

Can you upgrade on a oneworld flight using Qantas FF points?
You can only upgrade a Qantas flight with QFF points.

If you are a Qantas Platinum or Oneworld Emerald then you can access the Qantas Business Lounge before a departure with a non-Oneworld carrier.

A Qantas Platinum Can:

Member and 1 guest can access lounge any time.^ Guest must be travelling with member.

An Oneworld Emerald Can't:

Member and 1 guest can access lounge on day of departure of a oneworld flight.#

# next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld Airline Members operated and marketed flight.Note: a oneworld marketed flight refers to a flight with a oneworld flight number, eg QF1 or AA222. A oneworld operated flight refers to the actual aircraft or 'metal' on which you fly, eg Finnair aircraft.

Note, they lounge dragons may not know the rules fully, so you might get in with a Oneworld Emerald card, e.g. AA EXP.

Incidentally, if you're flying TG you should be able to access the SQ or NZ lounges in BNE, assuming you have Star Alliance Gold. There are some threads on Flyertalk that talk about the easiest way(s) to get/maintain Star Alliance Gold.

Oneworld Emerald always gets me with Qantas Business Lounge access. Next time I will leave it out and only include Qantas Platinum....

Fixed original post.
