ABC reporting curfew is under serious consideration in Melbourne.

I pondered this yesterday and still firmly believe it is among the absolute worst decisions they could possibly make. Open disobedience will be the result if they implement it, guaranteed.

There is virtually no point in having a curfew at all. I think it is made to make the government look tough.

WA just seem like crazy people, I know they live in the middle of no-where with no-one else to speak so but do they really think they can be the only part in the whole world that will manage to be covid zero till the end of time? whats in the water over there

Don't tar us all with the same brush. Considering he called a snap press conference just to announce that had me scratching my head.

I am starting to think mandatory 5 day jail terms now for things like this. No discretion no excuses. You flout a public health order you go the jail. I am sick and tired of people doing the wrong thing 18 months into a pandemic.
I think they should publish photos of these drongoes in the paper - like the 2 women from Sydney who flew into Melbourne. Let their family friends and workmates see how little they care for others and are willing to put lives and livelihoods at risk for no better reason than they can get away with ot - who knows what their motivation was, but clearly there was malice aforethought.

Hoping this isn’t true but hearing of 4 new cases in Katherine.
We had 2 friends in Katherine last week. They have been travelling through Qld and NT for the past 6-8 weeks and both got their jabs while on the road and pop up clinics.

Its probably a case of many ignoring symptoms.........still no link - line of sight to NSW - yet.

But there would be a proportion that are pre-symptomatic.
As a resident of Canberra, we have been very lucky up until recently. Canberra in winter is not your favourite destination due to the coughpy temperatures, and that played in our favour until recently.

As a result, ACT Government became more and more complacent with enforcing social distancing and gathering sizes and now this has happened. Yes people may have assumed it was just a winter flu. But in the absence of community reminders, many would have just kept working from home.

My daughter's high school was an exposure zone, so now our entire family is housebound (Quarantine) for two weeks. A negative COVID test is meaningless and just means we don't become a primary contact. Meanwhile, I'm the only one who can work from home, with my wife an aged care worker and two adult sons working essential jobs, all stuck at home waiting for the end of 14 days. I even had some essential travel to SA booked that is now hosed.
