What’s your favourite souvenir?

Fridge magnets here too. They're easy to carry and every time I go to the fridge it reminds me of different places we've been. At the past couple of work places, the rule was that if anyone went on holidays they had to bring back a tacky fridge magnet for the office fridge. It turned into an interesting competition.

Sigh, guess I have to own up to actually stopping people in the street and asking them if they want to sell their ladybird bags! Kept some gave others to friends.

Also can’t resist buying scarves, especially hand make silk ones, must have quite a few by now, not just scarves, I have a lot of cloth that I have collected, most sitting in boxes but including Kenti from Ghana, Mali wedding blankets, silk saris and runners, all sorts of stuff, a friend worked for the English fashion designer Zandra Rhodes in the early eighties, so I have some of her hand printed silk scarves, aquired legally, someone is going to have fun when I kark it.

Also t-shirts, mostly from rallies, yes I am a hoarder……. some of my t-shirts!

I've found the little spray bottles in the amenity kits the perfect handbag size for refilled sanitiser spray.

Hey @Cossie, we should have a Tesco comparison thread. I've got a Harry Potter, batman, Disney, and, maybe 10 others. People keep asking me where to get them.

Just the ladybird ones for me, although I gave some "owl" ones to a friend that likes them. :)

Sorry, it's getting a bit away from souvenirs per se, but I do get all this stuff when I'm traveling. Lanyards, postcards, maps, all sorts of cough!

You are absolutely right about the shopping bags.😃😃😃 In the good old days when you came back in dead of winter from European holiday doing the shopping was a joy holding a bag that bought back memories from all the lovely places I shopped. British supermarkets are brilliant especially the green waitrose hession sought and Morrison’s beautiful vege pics. I also try to pick up a cloth one from every art gallery I go to. Ah bliss!!

I also keep hotel door ‘Do not Disturb’ when they existed and interesting keys…

I seem to collect transport cards. Just checked my collection and I’ve got Amsterdam, London, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Montreal, Seattle, Beijing, San Francisco, Vancouver, Shanghai, New York, Washington. Also local cards for Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide.

I know you can often return the card for a refund, but I like to keep them as a momento and an incentive to return.

I do not normally collect souvenirs from travel, I know my pecking order when it comes to family travel. My role is to bring empty luggage, calculate the weight and size of additional luggage purchased OS and upon return sell luggage as 'used for one trip'. Mrs and MissM cannot help themselves, shopping is something they enjoy.

Generally I will buy a new hat or a T Shirt and more than likely not any hint that I bought it from OS or somewhere other than home...

As the instigator of the thread you do NOT need to ‘plead the fifth amendment’ as they say in the US dramas. All will be forgiven. I actually started this thread after ‘fessing up in the thread about things we admit too. plenty of my objects fell into my suitcase… go ahead Archipeligo - unburden!!!
