As there is no travel to the Tokyo Olympics for spectators and families (except for a recalcitrant premier looking for a photo op)
Any posts not specifically relating to travel to Tokyo are technically off topic - like this one.
The IOC has also restructured the bidding process to make it easier and cheaper
All done behind the scenes now.
No transparency
.....
Majority by a large margin of Japanese do not want the Games
Toyota is not going to air their Olympic advertising, their chairman is not attending but Anna is...
Another negative story about Equestrian Australia selections.
It has never been about the athletes - they just provide the content
No spectators allowed and those who paid tickets wont get all of it back. Significant fees payable to monopoly ticket vendors.
Coates saying Brisbale Oly will be cost neutral? and the operating costs only 4.5 billion?. What a crock.
1)Note that coates never said capital costs - just operational cost.
2)4.5 billion is also cheap compared to recent other Games
3) Also note how Coates counts the 4.5 billion operational cost.
He says the 4.5 billion is made up of 2.5B contribution by IOC, 1B revenue from tickets, 1B revenue from sponsorship = 4.5 B
When you make the expenditure the same as income of course it will be the same
4) If that is so why is the Queensland and Federal Govt have to tip money in?therefore breakeven.
