In this battle it’s Spain by a country mile!

Comando G is an impressive Grenache, or Garnacha, that punches above its price. MoC is very nice too but needs more time to mellow down.

It's "made for Dan Murphy". Seems to be only the 2017 vintage, I assume it is something standard and just relabelled.

Something a little different right now at the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar - which recently moved to Broome.



Went nicely with half doz Pacific oysters. Scallops and S & P squid to come.

As indicated on the bottle this is a side project done my Mount Mary. RP stands for Rhone Project (RP1 is a blend of white grapes). This RP2 is made of 55% Grenache, 20% Shiraz, 20% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault.

Normally I’m not big fan of GSM but this one is really nice. Distinctive red fruit flavours yet quite savoury at the same time. Easy drinking but complex enough to make it interesting.

Good price but no 2018 which was the stronger vintage.
