Getting from PER to Toronto

I need to get from PER to Toronto in June for a wedding.

OW Circle Pacific 26,000 mile fares are now $3960 AUD plus tax in economy. (Still expensive even though there is a 10% discount on)

CX return PER-HKG-YYZ is $2865 inc tax.
QF return PER-SYD-LAX-YYZ is more expensive than CX.

Any ideas on how to get to Toronto cheaper? I would like to earn QFF points and status credits.

An RTW LONE4 is currently $3150 plus taxes etc. A basic PER-HKG-YYZ-LHR-SIN-PER itinerary is only about 1000 miles more than out and back. You could of course optimise/tweak it as much as you wanted - taxes etc. may be more than with an out/back or circle pacific, but the base cost is ~$800 cheaper.

Long way of getting there, but what about the following (depending on dates):
PER-MEL return on QF: $418*
MEL-LAX-JFK return on QF: $1745*
JFK-YYZ return on AA: $375
Total Fare: $2538

* Or you can do PER-MEL-LAX-JFK return on same booking for $2219 ... an extra $56.

Who knows a good travel agent in SIN?

Just playing around on the Jetstar website and noticed airfares PER/SIN/PER in June for $164.00 each way. Dates I looked at were outbound 09 June and inbound 27 June.

Total return including taxes is AUD431.77.

My next step would be finding the best airfare ex SIN to Toronto return. You may find that it's cheaper to do this as a package so might be able to get a hotel in YYZ for a few nights also.

Try and get a copy of Saturday's New Straits Times to get an idea of what's on offer.

You could always call one of the major SIN hotels and speak to the concierge and ask for the names of a couple of travel agents they could recommend.
