QF DSC - Domestic only | Book by 30 Mar | Travel 31 Mar 2021 to 28 Feb 2022

Just a data point - my status credit rollover came through this morning (March membership year) and bonus status credits earned through last year's DSC offer have been included in the rollover.

Great outcome that no uphill battle required :)

QF flights operated by QQ's E190 commence 25 May:

Just thinking these may not qualify for DSC in case anyone has already booked?

That's a good point. I would imagine in this case that Alliance Airlines *should* be treated similarly to QantasLink or Jetconnect, and these flights should earn DSCs as Alliance is really just operating QF flights under contract for Qantas. It's not a true codeshare arrangement as you can't buy tickets directly from Alliance on routes like ADL-DRW. But the DSC offer terms & conditions do state that only Qantas-operated domestic flights will count. So it's unclear.

Do you know if Virgin Australia flights operated by Alliance Airlines normally used to qualify for Velocity DSC promos?

Anyone who has already booked a Qantas-operated flight during DSC and is then moved to an Alliance-operated QF flight should be able to claim ORC if the DSC don't post automatically.

Thanks for the QQ&A!

I read somewhere that for these promotions 'operated by' really refers to the airline that has administrative control of the flight. In the case if this wet lease, that would be Qantas.

Normally when you fly codeshare flights (eg AA) they credit in your history as the operating flight number (eg AA).

In this case there is no other flight number, it would credit as QF, so pretty sure it would count.

I can't speak for AA specifically but I've always had the marketing carrier show up - such as for QF4025 and QF4018 SIN-HND vv, JAL metal but shows up in activity with the QF flights numbers and earns status bonus points and counts to loyalty bonus.

Yep, sorry you are right - it’s been too long since I last flew overseas!

I am very confident these E190 flights with QF flight numbers would be fine for DSC.

As far as pax are concerned these are QF flights and will be treated as such.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Also took flights on Saturday, DSC posted today. Very happy to see these crediting so quickly.

Mine were classic awards earning through Points Club, so I can confirm these definitely do accrue DSC as expected.

I also moved the dates of my flights after the DSC booking window closed, so that aspect of DSC promos is also still behaving as expected.

I took a flight on the 1st and the 5th and both posted on the 8th. I guess it took some time to get the process started.

It has only been a couple of weeks since this offer was announced and I have already lost all interest and now working through cancelling bookings and the tricky ways to get refunds. So what changed, it was my misunderstanding of the QF status keeper rules e.g. status boost and rolling over SCs. When this kicked in at the end of Mar and reported in other threads I realised my mistake as I had thought at my 2021 roll over I would get 1800 SC as a boost and I could roll forward any other SCs I had in my account, 500 odd. By my calculations that would have seen me start the new year sitting at around 2300SC, "sweet" only 1300SC to go, without international but some DSC flights the target is achievable.

Then reality set in, with what has been reported in other thread there will be no 1800SC boost and I also forgot that the points club+ 100SC roll over does not count towards P1 so my starting point of 2300SC has dwindled to around 400SC. The thought of racking up another 3200SC to retain P1 is just not worth it.

I totally understand your position and would do the same if I were in your position. You could get a soft landing back to WP or a pleasant surprise and find that there is a further easy to achieve status extension offered. If international borders reopen say next year rather than the October 2021 QF hopes, I believe further status extension offers are very likely.

The soft landing back to WP is a given for myself, MrsM will get a hard landing from WP to NB as her status is tied to mine. The ability to gift WP is a P1 benefit I place high value on, outside of my solo (work) travel we normally travel (not always) as a family unit of 3. Domestically it makes no difference as the QF family policies cover guests and kids travelling together, if I am not travelling she still gets lounge access and in places such as SYD or MEL I remind her she can use the J lounge. The real benefit comes into play when travelling internationally on other OW carriers as the OW guest rules come into play. As x2 OWE there are no issues with the family unit gaining access to F lounges, this is what Mrs and MissM will miss the most.

If QF extend again I will be most grateful.

Totally understand your feelings about this Matt_01 - but tbh I felt it was very clear back in November when the latest stats support arrangement was announced that it was for bookings from then till anniversary date, not the whole year (since they wanted NEW bookings obviously). I'm actually surprised DSC roll over but that's a nice bonus there. Sure, makes regaining P1 nigh on impossible for most given lack of international and all so I get the "why bother?" factor. At least you have your status for the extra year, so those soft landings will be in 2022 and who knows what could happen between now and then - specially as it looks more and more unlikely any seriously larger ability to travel int won't be happening before the end of the year so I suspect this is not the end.

But you're right - status doesn't rule everything, and what's the point without the travel anyway? As you do fly a lot you would regain in no time when things get back to some sort of normal (if that is still your goal of course - you may well shift elsewhere) and until then WP is more than handy for most things.

I'm certainly only looking to roll over <500 SC assuming I do fly what i have booked by my anniversary date. I am OK with that. Unlikely in my 2022 membership year I will get to the required amount as things currently stand, but I do think, as the past has shown, this is not the end of "status support" given the ongoing uncertainties.

We'll all see, and we all need to play the game the way that works best for us :)

Me.. I just want to get on a plane and go somewhere that is not within a few km's of my home. That's my first goal. The rest will come in due course and whatever happens will happen.
