Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

I generally prefer to shop at Woolworths, but flybuys has been showering me with offers lately that are just too good to refuse.

On Tuesday, for example, I did a $279 shop at Coles. For this I received a total of 14,979 flybuys points. This comprised of:
  • 279 base points
  • 1,000 bonus points from a "spend $260 each week for three weeks to get 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000 points in each week" offer (I was on week one)
  • 450 bonus points for buying a particular product I'd received a targeted offer for
  • 10,000 bonus points from a "spend $270 betwen 13-16 March and get 10,000 bonus points" offer
  • 3,000 points from a "spend $250 to get 3,000 points, or $300 to get 6,000 points" offer
  • 250 bonus points for buying a product with a "bonus flybuys points" tag on the shelf.

Come to think of it, I would have even earned an extra 3,021 flybuys points if I'd spent an extra $21!

Meanwhile, Woolworths Rewards has been sending barely any offers lately, and the ones they are sending are nowhere near as lucrative.

I got spend $300 in one hit, get 10K points....10K is worth $50 so essentially a 16.67% discount on shopping at Coles :)

Took up the offer and spent $300 at Coles - received the 10K FB pts the next day. :) Got the same offer again today...I think Coles are testing me....tempted again!

Getting more of these quick 4-day spend in 1 shop offers again.

One account for spend $80 for 3,200pts - took this one up yesterday and have received an identical offer beginning tomorrow.

Another account got spend $90 for 3,600pts.

Have a couple of things to buy so will probably take up one of the above again. Coconut water half price this week which may help. Already have approx 35x1L bottles stored around the house but hey, the other two NoNames churn through it so could always use some more.

Spent $300 today so another 10K FB points :) I think this FB card is stuffed now for a long time in terms of getting reasonable offers!

Today received spend $350 for 3500 FB pts...much less generous so will be passing on this one, Coles!

Received a new four week spend $60 (in one shop) for 10,000 points. Activated :)

Still getting ridiculous "Spend $100, get 2000 points" offers which are going straight in the bin. Think I need to pop in for some $1 transactions.

I received a three day promotion spend $70 for 2,000 points. Easy to stack onto weekly $60 x 4 week promotion, extra $10 spend for extra $10 off so easy to accept.

this does however highlight you should keep your spending on a weekly spend promotion to late in the week in case you get something to stack on to it via a Tuesday night promotion email.

However is it worth for this once off to have your weekly spend future offers bumped up at least $10/wk if not $20 ongoing?

It seems a few $2 purchase gets the targets down fairly quickly but good point.

Liquorland: spend $20 for 1000 points.
Seems I read this wrong.
It's spend $20 on alcohol through Coles Online. (I wonder if I can stack this with a spend $50 at Coles for 2000 points offer (as this offer doesn't specifically exclude alcohol, just tobacco and gift cards)

Another I got is spend at Coles, then spend $30 on wine at LL for 1500 points.

2x accounts got:
Shop at Coles (any amount) then spend $30 on win at Liquorland = 1,500pts

In-store only.

Okay just got another spend $70 for 2,000 points from Sat 17 April to Tuesday 20 April.

The last two days overlap with the second week of the $60 x 4 weeks for 10,000 points.

I wasn’t planning on hitting the second $60 spend early in the week but I’m tempted as effectively the extra $10 spend is free with the 2,000 points.

Will probably do it on the Tuesday I guess, would prefer a few days later but if I hold off maybe Tuesday I’ll get another $70 for 2,000 point spend.
