from news.com.au:

A PILOT has exposed himself to security staff at a London airport after becoming enraged at being searched.

The pilot asked security “Do you want to search this?” as he dropped his pants at London City Airport, the Sun reported.

Quote from the story-
"The Swiss International Airlines plane he was due to fly was cancelled as police questioned the pilot about his antics, delaying 37 passengers for two hours"

Glad I wasn't on the plane,I would NOT have been happy .

He shouldn't have of course, but hard to blame anyone for getting fed up with airport security guards.

We all know what security guards are like when the uniform goes on.

Perhaps there ought to be more trust and respect for the position of Pilot, CoPilot, Captain. Compare

(1) If I am a lawyer, my word is trusted in court by the judges. If I am a judge my conduct is trusted.

(2) If I am a doctor, my care of patients is trusted.

(3) If I am a pilot and in charge of an aeroplane with 100s of people, I am trusted to fly it safely to its destination.

Why am I mistrusted by airport security?

I'm sure it must be demeaning to some experienced pilots to be subject to a level of security which until recently was reserved for the most non-trusted and suspicious looking of passengers.

I am not arguing one way or the other but just asking people to, for one minute, put themselves into the shoes of this otherwise trusted and respected position in society.

A pilot doesn't need to smuggle a knife / gun / bomb etc on board...he has a fully fuelled missile capable of 1000km/h at his disposal waiting for him on the tarmac...
