Damn still waiting for Mel-Byron on QF....!

But Coffs is a nice one!

Perhaps not quite what you wanted, but Virgin has just announced direct MEL-BNK flights from 29 March.

Yea nah not risking any more $ flights with VA2, too many cancellations and credit process messy.

thank you though

SYD-CFS on Friday 14th, 10:45 departure was operated by a B717, there were two people in Business and maybe around 50 in Economy. So I guess there's some demand for a premium cabin, even if it was points upgrades? (Didn't look like deadheading crew, but I suppose could have been.)

There were 5/12 in J when I flew this route earlier in the year. Everyone else seemed to be going to Coffs Harbour on holiday and I suspect a few were points upgrades/redemptions.

Interestingly, the CFS-MEL flight was also running at this time but with a single-class 717. I was in the Qantas Club in CFS around the same time as that flight was departing (I was going to SYD) and the lounge attendant mentioned that not a single pax on the CFS-MEL flight was eligible for lounge access even though it was full.

I regularly fly CFS-SYD and on the two occasions I’ve had the 717 (one just prior to the most recent sydney lockdown, one in the last 2 weeks) I’ve been the only one in J both times.
