Hi all, I have an issue with a gift voucher purchased last February. I intended to purchase 5 x $50 vouchers, but I thought I inadvertently purchased 1 x $250 voucher. I wasn't really bothered about that, but I have just tried to use it, and discovered that it's not in fact 1 x $250 voucher, it's a voucher for 5 passengers at $50 each! I don't know how I managed to do that, but it was certainly not my intention (I have a family of 4 including myself).
The problem is that when redeeming these vouchers, the system forces you to book for the specified number of people, and the T&Cs state that the number of passengers on a voucher can’t be changed. Does anyone know of any way around that? If not, I assume my best option is to use this voucher for a cheap one way flight and just write off the fifth fare? E.g. 5 x $110 Red E-Deal fares = $550, so the net cost using the voucher would be $300, compared to $440 if I just purchased 4 fares normally. In effect that would make my $250 voucher worth just $140. It’s obviously not the end of the world if I have accept that but just wondering if anyone knows of a better option?
