Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Ok but as you aren’t actually in charge of this process I’m guessing you haven’t thought of the consequences of your idea.
Every year my hospital and many others in Australia rely on junior Drs coming out from the UK and Ireland etc to keep our rosters filled safely and our patients seen and treated safely.
No staff, no healthcare.
Thankfully you aren’t in charge of this process and we have been able to get some of them to come over to maintain our workforce
DIL is one of these from the UK and she really knows her stuff. She has now served her ‘penance’ for coming to Aus and has most practising restrictions removed. She started in Sydney too and worked in some difficult areas of drug dependency and addiction that were hard to fill places. Plus a stint in a large Public Hospital.

Safety first!! Thought some people might enjoy a giggle this morning 😂😂

Gotta watch out for those SA lepers🤣

Let’s all pray for the health and safety for all the other leaders risking their lives meeting with SA!

WA Premier to join National Cabinet meeting virtually over fear of coronavirus risk from SA Premier

West Australian Premier Mark McGowan will dial in to tomorrow's National Cabinet meeting to socially distance from South Australia's Premier, Steven Marshall, who will be there in person in Canberra.

He will be the only state or territory leader not to join Prime Minister Scott Morrison at the meeting.

Isn't this a classic. There are no active cases in SA and 11 days with no new positives. WA does have active cases but in Med Hotel quarantine. I hope they serve Pizza for lunch.

There was concern that overseas arrivals were showing symptoms but possibly that hasn’t come to pass?

Hopefully next time if that’s his excuse then it will be more difficult for him to use it.
Symptoms but none have tested positive so far

Tasmania’s Premier, formerly ‘Dear Leader’ now ‘Peter the Great’ 😉 had lifted the state’s dancing ban and we can now ‘drink vertically’ ( 100 inside, 250 outside). Great for hospitality venues 😊.

I suspect he realised it was getting silly that Victoria was opening up in some respects faster than we were.

A fourth virus case announced today, in hotel quarantine, all arrived from India recently.

Fear not, SA, St Marko will make us the pariah state soon. 🙄

ABC and Qld health minister used this theme to announce the removal of bans on dancing from Monday.

This was a worry though

"Ms D’Ath said seniors would be allowed to line dance in leagues clubs and RSLs."

Bronze standard? 😂

Canberra's coronavirus hotel quarantine security breached by man delivering food to guest, police say

A delivery worker who brought food to recently returned international travellers unwittingly breached the stringent security set up at Canberra's coronavirus quarantine hotel, police say.

About 120 travellers had been staying at the Pacific Suites hotel in Braddon while undergoing a compulsory two-week period of isolation.

The travellers, who arrived from overseas on a special flight last month, completed their quarantine at the hotel today after testing negative for the virus earlier this week.

ACT Health says it is confident the incident, which took place yesterday morning, posed no public health risk

Only reinforces the old joke “What time is it in Queensland right now?”

1930. ( or maybe c.1985 this case)
Hey don't be rude. Some of us are very forward thinking and modern. And to prove my point , was looking for the wink emoji and can't find it as my AFF emoj button has disappeared and I can't get it back!!!

Apparently the delivery person was an ex employee of the hotel and didn't realise it was a quarantine delivery (though he did leave the food at the door). Parked in the staff car park and took the staff lift up.Not overly secure even if not being used for quarantine IMO.
