When do you think we can travel again?

I know everyone’s situation is different and we will all do our own risk assessment, but when do you reckon it might be ok to travel again?

We have classic award flights booked for September.
We are booked on QR in F, PER-DOH, then Q suites on the return and I really, really don’t want to give them up.

At the moment I am about 90% sure I will have to cancel and 10% hoping for a miracle.

Luckily they are refundable, but gosh they are so hard to get, it’s like throwing away a winning lottery ticket.

What’s everyone else’s thoughts?

I have just had domestic BNE- SYD flights cancelled directly by Qantas for June a few minutes ago.

I've also got flights booked to UK/Ireland and back, also on Qatar in a mixture of F & J, one set in August, which I know won't be happening and one in November which I feel there might be a small chance of happening, but if they do i'm sure there will be a quarantine period on returning so I will have to cancel as well

Im currently rescheduling May 2020 for March 2021.

No idea if it'll happen - the money is already spent so if I can pull it off, its a win for us.

When can we travel, or when will it be fun to travel again?

I think that while we may be able to travel, there will be a bunch of restrictions that may make it less than enjoyable.

I hope it's sooner than later.
Thanks COVID-19 for ruining our lives.

So what I am actually wondering is, when should I pull the trigger?

Our current trip is 5 weeks away if we have quarantine for an extra two weeks on top of that, well it’s just is not an option.

If we reschedule it will be for September 2021, so I would want my points back in order to try for award bookings again and by some accounts this is taking some time.

No,
the trip is for five weeks, in September, so still 4 months away

And two weeks quarantine on top of that is not an option

Sorry but no one really knows the answer to this (though some here pretend to) so you are really asking us to speculate. Unless you have to do something I'd just be waiting. Each week brings new information so in 2 months time we will know a lot more about what's going to happen.

Either way I'd be waiting for the airline or Qantas to cancel, not cancelling myself. I know doing nothing is sometimes hard but it's also something's the best thing to do, at least until much closer to your travel date.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yeah, we have given ourselves a deadline of July 20 to make the decision.
We have a non refundable deposit paid on a tour and the balance is due then. But they will transfer for another tour in the next 18 months.

Just wanting to get a feel for what everyone else is doing.

Emirates has been revising the resumption date to 1 July for their Australian flights...

Qantas expects this to last 12 months.

I'd say February 2021 but with possible quarantine restrictions that may not make leisure travel that attractive.
