The "I am in self-isolation" thread

Could be interesting to see what comes out of this. I think this whole period of time will change largely how the workforce operates, lots of organisations will realise that people can work just as effectively when remote and reduce travel, ratio of people:desks etc.

I attended my first ever large(ish) video seminar yesterday and it was much nicer seeing everyone's faces instead of sitting in rows looking at the back of people's heads. (Apart from the woman who clearly didn't understand that her video was on despite the speaker warning everyone :p). I think most people preferred it!

We are just passing half way today of our isolation. Glad we left London as our actual booked flights on 30th March are not running.
Longest two weeks of our lives but we are both ok. Need to complete our tax papers this month....
One of our business partners had to shut his two bars yesterday. Sad times for his workers as it seems those bars will be closed for months rather than weeks.

Me too, or not quite. Brings the minor concern that this is the most likely time for symptoms to appear from my last 3 days in Paris.

Day 6 in trakkie-daks :D and I couldn't put the lawn mowing off any longer. On the other hand, I just got a text from the ATO saying they's processed my tax return and refund going into the account.

I am on day 11 not sure what I will do when 14 days are up.
No need to see the doctor (have done the phone consult ) we are on Woolies home delivery list
Can't see son and his family

RooFlyer that put a smile on my face about you getting a tax refund.
What we received was a very funny risqué email about a sex store that had been burnt down.
Have our end of February creditors to review so I have something other than sex to think about.
Yes Mrscove still seems nice.....

In reality we started in isolation a couple of days ago except for a dash right now to the pharmac_. Family off limits.

Day 1 and just slammed the door on my office.

If I had to listen to Sk8er Boi (yes, thats how its spelled) by Avril Lavigne one more time I was going to lose my mind.

The fact that my 58yr husband is listening to it has me looking up funeral homes

And all those people at home that are apparently "not" spending money in our local economy.....

My husband just spent $200 on his fav keeto balls from a Tassie maker

The same place we hope to get back to in August so he can take a large piece of empty luggage and say "Fill her up". Hes spending like a man who hasnt looked at his Super balance recently

We're now in work WFH lockdown and enough food to stay here but are we not suppose to leave home at all?

Hubby goes for a walk each day, doesn't talk to anyone, no stairs/handrails ect, just a 90min walk.

These Italy mayors are fed up with people that are outside (swearing in subtitles, unless you understand Italian) so should I stop him from walking?

So long as not coughing, doing social distancing etc. I don't see the problem. Wash hands before, wash hands after etc.

Spending a lot more time at home. What we have noticed is a distinct change in our local bird behaviour.
I always talk to the butcher birds but in the last few days they are now waiting outside the door when we get up.
A pair of Kookaburras have started visiting as well as a pair of pied currawongs.Haven't seen them before this close in 26 years.
The blue/grey parrots that used to visit about 10 years ago have returned.

Maybe most around us are keeping inside.
We do sit our on the patio for evening drinkies.
