The "I am in self-isolation" thread

+1 The postmaster herself signed for my parcels when she redirected them.

Having not seen my son and grandson for four weeks with at least another two weeks to go....for me ,even with video calls , that seems to be the hardest part of this isolation.
I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to have even longer periods of isolation
We aren't able to hug our 6 month old grandson any more. For our protection not his. 😔

I got an email form AustPost saying that signatures will no longer be required. The staff will do it when you collect the item.

I had my work car serviced today and the staff member asked me to sign the tablet and went to hand me the 'pen'.
I asked when the pen was last wiped. She said they do it between each customer.
I asked when she last washed her hands. She said I could sign using my finger on the tablet.
I suggested she could sign for me "like Australia Post do". She went to ask her boss if that was ok.
*sigh*

Ok time is moving slowly...... l think it is time to go to the cellar.... I usually don’t drink wine by myself but I think it is high time for some red...... Of course my cardiologist would be pleased provided I do some olives......I spotted the olives in the fridge so I think I am ready for the footy on tv.

Hmmmm... no mention of the co-inhabitant that Seems (Seemed? 😕) Like A Nice Person... 🤔😟.

From the neighbours (raspberry muffins, just in case you think they are spuds). I think I’m going to extend my ‘self isolation’ for a few weeks 😀

Remember that is 3 days worth of muffins. Try not to eat them all at once.

Breakfast in bed....yes she impressed me with that @JohnM .
i don’t think I would have handled getting divorced at 50 as there would probably be a limit to how often I could use half a barbecue.......
Meanwhile our Melbourne manager managed to get a pack of 15 toilet rolls....I have missed leaving our half acre to be stimulated by folks running red lights and stuff like that.....
Yes she still seems like a nice person......

Our neighbour in the back apartment block waved to us today. No words but a wave
Have to say a little concerned about the elderly European (they speak little English ) also who usually sit out on their back balcony havnt seen them for three days .
Their blinds aren't moving ever. However their lights are on automatic.
Hoping their younger family have taken them somewhere safe

Day 6. of self imposed social distancing.

Quite surprised. One phone call, one text and one email from people I haven't seen for weeks or even much longer asking how I am doing. Have more friends or remembered more than I ever thought. 🙏

Now on day 3. No signs yet of going stir crazy.

Regretting not buying more duty free scotch. Have gin but supplies of tonic are low.

Gin martinis it is then

I hope you have ice! And not ice in the sense that is the epidemic gripping Oz atm....

We do have to maintain a sense of humour when we are cut off. I don’t think we could handle months of confinement
Now we do have those titanium bladed 3M scissors as well as the Wilshire Stay Sharp knives but we have 3 levels we can hide out.
I was told the Stay Sharp knives are the most popular....Haven’t needed to hide any of these so far.
After almost 50 years she still seems nice........
