There are probably plenty of domestic road warriors here still battling on.

What's it looking like? Are people still flying or are planes literally empty?

QF this morning cancelled four ADL-MEL flights for tomorrow (the 20th). Mine is safe and the load is heavier now for obvious reasons. Will be interesting to see what the airports on both ends are like.

Yesterday Syd to Hobart 0735 with VA - biz full (strange as its usually light load) but Y was wide open. First 5 rows incl first two Economy X had one person each block of 3 seats, so maybe 50 pax out of max 170-odd ?

VA Syd departure board showed 3 cancellations (think 2 Melb, 1 Bris) in the period 0700 to about 0930. Guess these pax were consolidated onto nearby flts.

Lounge was very quiet (for once..) but concourses were still moderately busy.

Would assume that some Y's got upgraded to J? There's only 8 J on VA flights though, so probably not terribly surprising given the consolidation into less flights.

That sounds dire though, I'm surprised people aren't flying domestic. Is there really a difference between MEL and SYD?

Companies stopping their RW's from flying, preferring they teleconference or work from home etc. No wonder we are seeing huge chops in dom scheds from both QF and VA.

I flew ADL-MEB-OOL yesterday, I had one spare seat between myself in 8A and the next passenger in my row & I sat in row 10 and had my row, the row in front and the row behind me empty on the MEB-OOL leg. Plane was about 1/3 full. Qantas lounges still had plenty of travellers. Dont know if it was my imagination but travellers in the lounges were sitting well apart from each other, I know I was.

I flew ADL-BNE-TSV yesterday on VA and also noticed a lot of SYD-MEL cancellations on the boards, flights were not really empty (about 60-65% full), although some business travel is discretionary and a lot of corporates are reducing travel there are some industries where you can't teleconference, so some domestic travel will have to be maintained unless we want the lights to go out....

I'm flying back to SYD on weekend on JQ. Was going to take my daughter but decided to scrap that thought this time around.

The 3 of us are booked to go to SYD for Easter and I don't want to cancel that trip.

Flew SYD-CNS yesterday, JQ787-8 enroute to Narita. About 1/3 full. Cairns very quiet, it’s depressing. Local Hilton like a ghost hotel

I flew SYD-BNE on VA last Friday and back again on Sunday. The flight there was only about 1/4-1/3 full at most, but the flight home to Sydney only had about 8 seats.
My friend was on JQ the same day and said both ways there wasn't a single spare seat. Interesting! Might be due to the time lol.

Flew ADL-MEL-ADL today on VA J and I saw some other MEL-ADL flights got cancelled but both mine were ok. Have ADL-BNE-ADL tomorrow on VA J and my flight back to ADL has been changed already. Don’t have any others booked until Easter at this stage unless work has an unexpected matter come up

I plan on getting to SYD during the school hols to purchase a car. Wondering if smaller aircraft and regional airlines might be a better option, if they're still up in the air. But then, on a large aircraft, people can spread out more...

Flew Sydney Canberra yesterday. When checking we got the last two seats. In reality only about 60% of passengers boarded the flight.

No, nothing for me I believe I was the first to be grounded domestically on this board - funny when you think about it, people thought my employer was overreacting at the time. Wish they were...!

The nature of the industry my employer means we are far ahead of the game in term of information, preparedness but we are also actively involved in the war against corona - so we need to all stay well.

Personally as soon as this employer started getting nervous I stopped personally flying as well (though kept booking because the sales were so good!).

I last flew domestically from Sydney to Melbourne to connect to and from QF35 and 36. I noticed both domestic legs SYD-MEL were full and the QF36 redeye was 90% full in the premium cabins. I've only got one flight booked until May to Coffs Harbour and while I won't take it if I get sick or if the skies get completely shut down I otherwise intend to. I go have a heap of flights booked domestically in May for football and still intend on taking them even if I get locked out because I booked them on DSCs.

I have a big overseas trip to Europe & South Africa in mid-June and while I'm not touching anything for now but am considering the possibility of moving it later in the year or perhaps scrapping the European bit of it and just going to South Africa.

Just booked VA syd-per for next weekend. Catching up with family while that's still possible, and will just get me to Silver the day before i start losing status credits...

Do you reckon they'll give me the gift bonuses announced yesterday?? I'm hoping so!!

Work banned all domestic travel completely but birthdays, etc, still happen at the same time of the year so I expect a few trips here and there for personal reasons.

QF captain on an A330 this morning said 60 passengers on board out of 260 seats and this plane would be parked up after the flight.

Also said he’d been flying 40 years and was wasn’t expecting to be back on the roster until May.

I wondered if he might be expecting never to be back on the roster from the way he was talking.
