As above, just wondering what ppl usually redeem the reward points for ?
It seems it's not worth it to redeem some item from their catalogue or even giftcards.
From quick calculation it seems best to redeem it for frequent travel point such as krisflyer points etc.
But which one is the best in terms dollar value per reward point ?
I hope I make sense :)

The best value depends on you and what you want in life.I transfer what I can to Aadvantage because I want OS travel in premium classes. For 190000 miles I can get a J award rtw which will cost me ~ $A11000 a dollar value ~ $A0.06.
Now even if I could get the newest whizzbang coffee maker at a dollar value of $A0.10 it would be worthless to me as I wouldnt use it.
So everyone will have a slightly different answer according to their own particular values and desires.

hmm true :)
btw i found a great offer

nokia N82 titanium for 16100 points.
Code: 3727

it's a bargain i think.
from shopbot cheapest is around $530
ebay cheapest around $400++

Agreed, that definitely is a bargain compared to most of the items on offer in the store - great find! Might have to give it some consideration for Christmas presents :).

Thank you very much for posting your find.

I was just thinking about buying a new phone, and this one has some interesting features which will keep me amused for some time!

I had not got around to redeeming anything from Citi rewards, so this will be an interesting first time. Hope to find something else interesting as well.

Cheers.

Just an update on the Nokia N82 offer.
Seems that they have changed it to include a freight charge, but reduced the points requirement.

Nokia N82 TITANIUM
Code: 3727
Freight Cost: $17.00
Reward Points: 12,800

This means that Citibank value 3,300 points for $17.00
So 1 point equals just over half a cent...?

I see this deal has hit ozbargain now, with one person saying that Citibank will be rejecting all orders (based on a phone conversation). It will be interesting to see if they honour it.

Ozbargain is useful to see keep an eye on bargains, but they have their own Chicken Littles as well. I suspect that if it was really an error, they would have removed it from the website by now. The N95/N93 switcheroo seems an interesting concept - I presume all 3 phones are of similar value/worth.

Interesting. I redeemed the N82 at 16100 points a week ago. Today I received a package and inside is a nice new N95. No complaints here!

Grab this while you can people.

I presume it was the Plum/purple model

Do you consider this N95-1 to be the same value/worth as a Titanium N82?

It certainly is the plum model. To me it is better value as I prefer the slider form over the candybar N82. Both phones seem to have similar features.

In terms of $ value, I'm not sure. I would only be assuming that they are the same $ value. However, the N95 has been replaced by the N96 so maybe the N95's they are sending out are cheaper?

Don't forget that Nokia released the N95 8gb model earlier this year :)
And they have recently announced the N97 too

Well, I guess its a good redemption for an unlocked mobile phone. I presume your padded bag had originated from a Harvey Norman store?

It did. I was going to give HN a call and see what the outright price is on one of these.

It's not bad at all really. I needed a new phone so it was a lot easier and cheaper than buying some piece of junk for $100.

I'm guessing that seeing you knew it was the plum model and came from HN that you received one too?

What a combination, HN and Nokia - the only two companies on the earth banished to my list of companies I will not voluntarily deal with ever again!

Confirmed. It's N95 1Gb Plum.
Not too bad. Although I prefer N82 :)

Hmm - In last Sunday's paper, there was a flyer/catalogue, which listed the Nokia N95 as being "worth" $529 outright and unlocked. Although I highly doubt I could get a buyer at that price - IMHO, I think its $200-$300 value.

It is a nice phone, isn't it :D
Although for me, it doesn't have all the functionality that I require - I am currently using a (buggy) Windows "smart"-phone. In typical Microsoft fashion, it regularly runs out of memory and requires rebooting!

Well, it appears that Citibank have stopped further redemptions on this award.

It still showed up as an award redemption when I just logged in.

I ordered the N82 a couple of days ago. The order confirmation says 'N82' but now my redemption activity shows it as 'N95'.

How long can I expect to wait for delivery?

It certainly is still there, but if you try to order one, it fails at checkout.

Reports range from 1 to 2 weeks :)
I think it depends on how fast the person at HN moves, and Aussie Post.

Well I orderd 3 N82's as I thought it a great deal.

In my case you could buy at either:

  • 16K
  • or 10k plus $34
Both had no extra freight.

So I went for 10K plus $34 by 3!!!

I thought it a very attractive deal and at $500 for the phone....$34 for 6000 points was great value too :)

So $1500 ish of phones for 30K points...5cents per point = great value.

On onday two N95's turned up which was not unexpected after reading Oz bargain in advance.
I was mainly pleased that they had not just yanked it.

Mystery though now is where is my third phone...and what will it be??

Delivery for me was about 11 days.
