SQ have announced significant number of service reductions in late April/May due to weak demand because of Coronavirus situation. These are currently announced on their facebook page.

For Australia (which I have posted below) a lot of midweek flights affected:

Looks like we have dodged a bullet on our May flight Sydney to Singapore.-guess the flights will be full

Thanks. Not seeing anything for our flights yet so its wait and see

Flts cancelled right left and centre - I had SIN-PEK for yesterday and PVG-SIN Feb 23 cancelled and re-booked - check closely SQ web site and contact SQ to confirm

Our SIN to JNB got cancelled on 1 April - I’ve now been rebooked to leave Singapore the day before I arrive there (all in one PNR, and in J). Thought about calling but suspect they’re halfway through moving people around.

Thanks for posting.

So far so good for our SYD-SIN .... SIN-SYD - all in May. Will have to go hunting for info on the SIN-LHR-SIN sectors - also in May.

I'm still dodging the bullet. Has anyone logged in to find their flight is cancelled, if so, what do you see as the change to the booking?

Just saw the email about flight reschedule and shot off email asking what happens if we decline. Then saw this post. 12th May CDG-SIN SQ335 rescheduled to 11th May for same time. I also got another email at the same time for Seat changes from 3c to 2a for the same flight, Sq335, for the same original date, 12th May. Very weird.

Had a look at a fake revenue booking for 11th and 12th may CDG-SIN, there's no direct flights, only 3 flights via MUC or ZRH or FRA.

All hotels booked for CDG and in SIN. Quite annoying. Will have to give them a call tomorrow to see what my options are.

Someone pointed out on Flyertalk, that when cancelling a flights it's common to block adjacent flights from sale until people on cancelled flight have been reaccomodated. So 11th likely to be running, but if you want to stick with date/time, worth seeing if they will reroute you via LHR (it will be the only A380 flying out of Europe that day, as ZRH is showing as 77W and FRA-SIN A380 also cancelled that day). Otherwise ask to reroute via ZRH!

Only affecting flights in April and May atm. I have Syd-Sin-Cph on Sq on 1st June followed by SK Cph-Kef ...I see quite a few Syd-Sin and Sin-Cph flights cancelled in May so fingers crossed. No changes at this point with my bookings in my Sq acct and no email....worried#

Only saw A350/777 via FRA/MUC/ZRH. No 380 at all. Didn't see any option via LHR, as I assume there's no direct *A between CDG and LHR.

Whilst they don't seem to play ball with BA (difficulty finding any routes they sell with BA sectors), they do sell AF flights on their website (eg SIN-CDG with SQ connecting to CDG-NCE with AF). It can't hurt to ask, in any event. Assuming you are an award ticket that might limit possibilities more than a revenue ticket though.

much easier for SQ that has 2, 3 or 4 flights a day or even more over a particular route. Gets tricky for airlines that only have 1 flight a day over a route & don't have the ability to downsize their aircraft on that route.

So when other airlines can't reduce capacity unless cancel a whole day, will that mean they try to dump seats at historically low prices & lead to one big price war ?

Hum interesting point @ozfflyer just a little off topic. My concern is that pricing on some routes will skyrocket - e.g. Oz-Europe via Middle East, any others than don't transit Asian cities (not just China).

I'm watching this thread like a hawk as I have SQ flights coming up (SYD-SIN-CPT and MRU-JNB-SIN-SYD) in March/April - so far they haven't been impacted.

I disagree.

Think all long haul travel will suffer for a year or 3.

The Chinese will have fares so low to eg. EU/UK, some who wouldn’t normally fly with them, will.

With reduced demand before Corona, this year is going to be very very difficult for many airlines.

Some without strong domestic networks will surely fold.

I think you're right. I can see a number of Chinese carriers dropping prices. But it can only go so far. They're still not going to put birds in the air at a consistent loss. We'll see.
I've got SYD-SIN-MAN and back in early September. I wonder if the CoVid crisis is still going to be affecting things then.

It’s complex, if, as many indicate, the thing dissuading travel is the virus, that probably makes the price/demand curve fairly inelastic, so it may be worth airlines just getting what $$$$ they can out of those willing to travel.

I received two emails from SQ yesterday. The first was a seat change. Later came advice my flight to CDG was cancelled and I had been booked on a flight from SIN to CDG the following day. A notification also arrived from the app.

It didn't suit me as I need to be in Paris on that particular date and I already have accommodation arranged there. I have also booked a flight to connect with the SQ flight from BNE to SIN.

The call centre was staffed by robots so I gave up and communicated with someone from SQ via a chatbox. The solutions offered were flying with Air India which I refused or flying to FRA and making my own way from there, which is quite unacceptable. They show business class seats being available with LH on their website.

I now have an extra day in Singapore and accommodation will be at my expense.

Will reconsider my choice of airline in the future.
