I read in a travel magazine a few years ago that one of the favourite holiday activities for some Japanese people is to stay in a hotel, have breakfast in bed, and then relax with the crumbs on/in the bed.

I think this a voluntold experience now, or be happy with the ‘crumbed’ state.
