Anyone shed some light on the ‘switch’ in the middle of the screenshot? It’s for seat selection in F on a Qantas A380. Cheers, Steven.

When you select a seat for pax #1 it automatically suggests a seat for pax #2. Noticed it earlier this week - not the worst feature as I'd bet most travelling parties will want to sit directly next to each other.

Curious to know how it behaves for F seating...

Well that makes sense, but the wording “seat type” makes it sound like there are different types of seats available.

I’ve fiddled with the selection. I think the default seats for 2 pax were one window and one centre seat (aisle in between)

Well technically there are... They've got standard seats, preferred seats and exit rows. Maybe it's a sign of slightly larger preferred seating zones and an automatic system similar to Jetstar.

I like this!

It means you can either elect to sit together, or there would be cases where you may want, for example 1A and 2A rather than 1A/1C (as in above example). Some times people both want a window, or aisle or whatever and prefer their own selections. This seems like a good move to me.

(of course there's no indication that this toggle switch holds in the situation of say an a/c sub or something and seats get reallocated, or pax are upgraded and allocated seats, but it seems like a good step)

Took me ages the other day to notice that toggle.. Was trying to book seats for a party of 5 including 2 kids and of course it insists on sitting the child with an adult, but not asking which child with which adult... But once I untoggled it, was all good.
