Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Indeed, since if that's his argument he should be comparing against "The Club"...

I agree entirely, that should be the case - those tiers would actually align, rather than VFF Platinum to QFF P1 because of an arbitrary "top tier" designation. The asymmetry between Plat and P1 is the problem, as it ignores an entire Platinum tier underneath which provides benefits and is aimed at the same market segment as the tier it is being compared with on VFF. But apparently a low delta between Plat and P1 on QFF justifies a low delta between Gold and Platinum on VFF.

A few upgrades useable on insane priced full fares - what a fizzer. You can often BUY paid Biz for LESS than Freedom fares on many routes! There is no major distinction right now between Gold and Platinum seeing one tier flies twice as much minimum to qualify, as the other.

All Plats should get a few upgrade e-Certs a year to use on ANY domestic route they choose

100% agreed. I've looked at it from every angle and the comp upgrades are entirely useless unless you absolutely require a flexible and refundable fare in the first place. I challenged anyone to prove otherwise!

I've had situations before, when my employer has purchased economy tickets and only freedom available, so used the comp upgrades. This is probably the best use.

I've personally purchased freedom before and comp upgraded. The main reason being the price increase between lower economy tickets and the trade off of extra SC's and getting the upgrade. I wouldn't say I needed a flexible or refundable fare. But wanted the SC's. However, not always the most cost effective.
Freedom can be cheaper than being a gateway ticket, changing your mind last minute and doing an upgrade bid.
FYI, I say this being Perth based so this is often for flights to the East Coast.

Definitely not the most cost effective. When you consider that freedom fares never go on sale and none of the discount codes work for them. Domestic freedom fares range from 3x to 6x the price of the cheapest getaway fares available. Which you can then bid the minimum for upgrade on and get the same seat for well less than half the price of going the freedom + comp upgrade route. I get that the added SC earned factors into the equation but there are still far cheaper ways to earn those as well.

Anyway children, play nice and perhaps stay more on topic!

At least this removes some of the Velocity old guard and with the imminent merger with VA perhaps we can hope for a better program for members!

The former CEO who was responsible for the Affinity deal is coming back ..... I can see the new position being more a "head of" reporting directly to the CEO of VA... VA is in a bad way still and needs to make more money .. Velocity is their cash cow and they will need to milk it more ....

If I recall, The Australian last year reported KS was in line for around $8.8m!
Doesn't that sit on the compy's books as a liability anyway? (So it would already in the financial reporting.)

Hopefully the new CEO's focus is customer service. Ideally getting points to credit in a constant, correct, efficeint manner across the board.
