What do people do when QFF Multi-City booking engine can't handle requests?

QFF Multi-City Booking engine keeps coming up with errors while trying to book -

MEL-BRI-LAX-SMF as the first leg then

SMF-LAX-MSY as the next leg a few days later - haven't even got to

MSY-CLT-TPA a few days later then

TPA-DFW a few days later then

DFW-LAX-MEL a few days after that

What do people do when this happens?

Call up. Thats what you have to do with multi bookings.

What do people do when this happens?

There is a known problem where the QFF multi city tool will only allow you to book two flights on a single calendar day. So if you're trying to book three, that could be the issue. If not, you can call. Ask them to waive the assistance fee.

Had error message with multi-city bookings previously. Qantas online-help were very accommodating and assisted with the booking. Waived the charge when I mentioned the error code #.

I kept getting error messages recently as part of a oneworld multi-trip ticket and then realised it was being caused by one specific sector. Was able to exclude that and make the booking, with a view that there will inevitably be changes before departure anyways, so I may as well add it in when I do those changes. Found it was more critical to just get availability sorted for the most pressing legs.

Book on-line whatever you are able, then phone for the remainder. There have been longstanding issues with booking on-line.

I go and do something else for a while to calm down at QF.

I’m sure I used to be able to book 4 flights at least and now it’s a fail.

Book on-line whatever you are able, then phone for the remainder. There have been longstanding issues with booking on-line.

If you do that though then the U.S. domestic legs that you have to book on the phone will be on a different PNR/booking reference and thus you won't get free baggage allowance? Or?

Although, AA flights, as an example, will provide baggage allowance in accordance with Oneworld status, or AA class of travel, whichever is the better.

I use the AA.com website for domestic USA flights in any case, as I've found cheaper prices there for paid flights (than either the QF or the Oz AA site). Just insert the QFF number during booking. The best prices on AA.com are at about 3 months out, give or take, in my experience.

assuming you are referring to AA then while there might be two PNRs as AA use SABRE, they operate in parallel and status benefits normally carry through.

Yes, the T&C of any bonus offer are important, but you did not make mention of using a bonus SC offer in Post # 1. The responses, above, relate to issues with the QF multi-city tool.

Bonus SCs are really another matter altogether.

Ah yes - my fault - I went straight from posting in the "Yay I got a 50% bonus SC offer" to posting in the "oh cough the Multi-City engine is bollocks to try to work with" thread but forgot to mention that I was trying to book for the offer

I use Frequent Flier Solutions. A small fee but very good outcomes with a lot of the risks.

I have sometimes found that adding US domestic sectors to an international multi city booking with QF adds little or nothing to the cost. In fact, on a couple of occasions, adding US domestic sectors has actually caused the total fare to reduce. It doesn’t always work that way, but at times the multi city option can work out dramatically cheaper compared to a separate booking with AA.
