Anyone know if you can get a comfort seat on a QF flight operated by EK the same way you can get one on a pure QF marketed and operated flight?

You can buy a comfort seat on EK, there is reference in this PDF: http://content.emirates.com/downloads/ek/pdfs/customer_service_plan/DOT_Optional_Services_v4.pdf
Extra Comfort
On occasions when an extra seat is required for added comfort or for musical instruments, then that additional seat is
purchased at 100% of the same fare which the customer purchases. One ticket is issued for the two seats.

Personally, I would avoid doing so on codeshares as this has been known to complicate matters.

Yes, like the comfort seat being in a different row to your seat. 🤣
