Traveled through the Flounge in Melbourne yesterday and was surprised to be offered a slot in the spa with a new menu. Instead of the former long list of available treatments, there's only four left but they all sound quite relevant to the stressed traveler:

The company operating the spa has also changed but it's still First come first served and each treatment lasts for a maximum of 20 minutes.

I had the new Hot Stone massage and it was absolutely delightful. Good firm pressure, just the right mix between pleasure and pain the way it should be. Welcome change to what in the past has been an often to soft touch for a massage that's supposed to have any effect.

Anyone know if this change has happened in SYD as well? Especially in Sydney I had noticed that over the past few years, the quality of massages had gone downhill immensely. So this new menu, if similar to MEL, would be a very welcome change!

Yes it has changed operators from Aspar to La Gaia Unedited in both Lounges and onboard. They operate at a few other luxury places ( Qualia etc). First Class passengers on Qantas still get prebooked the day before.

I would typically get a signature treatment that had a bit of everything. Was disappointed not to see such an option anymore when I was in the lounge last week. But nonetheless, I decided to try a foot massage because I get dry feet easily on an aircraft and I was about to get on QF11 - and it worked like a treat although it took me until the return of QF12 for me to really notice how dry my feet could otherwise get.
