Hi all,

I am booked on a classic award via qantas that includes a BNE- SIN leg on EK and I have just received an email from EK saying my flight has been cancelled. I had feared that this might happen as I read that EK had applied to kill the route but here we are. It appears they have now canned the route entirely.

Given it was booked on points on a range of metal, anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to stay on track?

Am I any chance of getting on Qantas metal in the same class given they also run the route?

Qantas didn’t know anything when I rang because the flight hadn’t showed hp

It will be no issue at all unless you’re in F.
Thank you, we are in J. I had assumed that qantas would be reluctant to come to the party for what was previously an Emirates product, but I guess they can chase Emirates for a refund.

I had an F booking for 2 (paid with points) in early april connecting through BNE -planned to overnight at BNE before connecting to homeand hotel booked and paid (lost out on that as it was non-refundable)
Emirates didn't automatically rebook me - luckily there was still award availability in F to re-route via Melbourne (unsociable arrival 0145) and then connect to home 7 hours later.
i had no problems getting the flights changed - it would have been interesting if there were no award seats to see what flight options were offered

Are you sure this is related to the route cancellation or just on your particular day and flight?

The flight is still being sold - what day/month are you flying?

Effective 30 March

I had 4 tickets, booked on QFF reward points, at Easter! Rang QFF premium on the night it was cancelled, and it was no trouble at all for QF rebooking us on the SIN to BNE flight, but also accommodated us in bringing it a day forward, as we needed to be back in Aus by tuesday and not wednesday. This was in Economy so there would of been seats available, however there were no award seats available when i booked this reward flight two weeks ago. Infact the possibility flying to singapore opened up only 2 and a bit weeks ago, because every east coast capital award seat (X4 tickets) was not available from 8 April to 10 April to fly onto any asian countries besides Shanghai. When it did open up QF had sent a email that night saying they had released an extra 8000 FF award seats, so thought we would try our luck and managed to get the 4 tickets. BNE-MEL-SIN-BNE. This is just a stroke of luck for us, as it allows us to go into the SIN First lounge now! :) We had been trying to figure out how to get a trip in to get into that lounge.

The B777 flight EK432 via SIN arrives BNE at 19:45 pm and will turn around as the non-stop flight EK431 to DXB departing BNE at 22:25 pm when it operates (in addition to the daily A380 service EK435 departing at 20:55 pm), while the B777 non-stop flight EK430 will arrive BNE at 22:40 pm and turn around a few hours later to operate EK433 to SIN at 2:45 am.

After the cancellation of the flights via SIN, the non-stop flight EK431 to DXB will depart BNE at 2:50 am instead...

This was a bit of a nasty one to me. Confirmed 2 seats in F. Emirates released the news they were trying to cancel the route about a week after the booking was confirmed, and I was holding on to hope it would be rejected.
Oh well, get to try BA First Class ex SYD instead, only thing that aligned with our dates to get to SIN. Still holding out that maybe EK out of Melbourne will open up closer to departure.

i'm booked on this flight as my first leg to LHR in September. it's not a bad time for a flight honestly. I'm flying out on a saturday morning so i'll work all day friday, get home around 8pm and have dinner. bu the time i shower and play some PC games it will be time to head to BNE to check in. it also gets me into london at 18:40 and i'll head straight to my hotel and sleep

EK has been cancelling the sector between SIN and BNE in the last week, so It looks like the route has already been terminated...
