No issues for me this evening. Is anyone else experiencing time-outs on AFF when viewing threads or replying to a thread recently? It is happening to me at least once a day.
And before you ask the time-outs are occuring on the work computer, laptop in Sydney using Optus broadband, desktops in the Qantas lounges and it has become more noticeable and extremely painful now that I am using Mobile Wireless Broadband from 3.
May I suggest (when using your own computer) put the following sites into the restricted zone -Is anyone else experiencing time-outs on AFF when viewing threads or replying to a thread recently? It is happening to me at least once a day.
Is there anyone with Vista Business installed and able to post on AFF? As I can post on Flyertalk and other forums could the issue be related specifically to AFF? Has AFF ever been tested with Vista Business?
Unbelievable! I have a brand new laptop and it is absolutely useless....
I have a brand new shrink wrapped laptop with Vista Business and I cannot add posts to AFF. I don't know why! Perhaps I should uninstall Norton. That is the only software I installed to the laptop since buying it last week.AFF works pretty well with Vista. The version should be irrelevent ( other than between 32bit and 64bit) .
AFF works with both 32 and 64 bit

JohnK,
I'm using Vista Business 64 bit and Mozilla Firefox to make this post. It's all working fine here.
I don't use Norton but Avast (free) for virus protection.
Reinstall Vista? Drivers for network cards?reinstall vista with a clean installation rather than a cruddy prebuild provided by manufacturer. just ensure have downloaded drivers for network cards beforehand
I think I will dump the trial version of Norton. I have heard recommendations for AVG from a few people. How does it compare to Spyware Doctor (the free version of course). My particular favouriteis AVG (free version of course).
I am using IE7 version 7.0.6001.18000. I have not touched the setup which was the same strategy used when I first used XP.What browser are you using? I suspect the problems you are experiencing is something to do with the way your browser is setup.
