EY & QR J to Europe from $2,723 ex MNL

Etihad and Qatar Airways are both offering some pretty good J fares from Manila to Europe at the moment, including to Rome and Frankfurt. EY MNL-xAUH-FCO is $2,723 return in J.

You can redeem Qantas points to get to Manila on QF19/20 (or pay for a cheap flight) to position. If redeeming points to MNL, book the return flight back to Australia on a separate ticket to save on carrier charges.

Have been looking at these for a little while for next August to FRA. I do like EY and as a VA Plat the AUH first lounge is great but we are still yet to try the QSuite and although the MNL-DOH return legs aren’t QSuite I believe QR69 DOH-FRA is?

These fares are available to multiple European cities. For example Etihad also has Munich, and Qatar has Berlin and Milan on sale.

Interestingly, Oman Air seems to have beaten these fares and is offering MNL-xMCT-MUC from $2,542 return in J. MXP and ZRH are also on sale (among others).

$2.5k return from Asia to Europe in business class is about as good as it gets. Occasionally it can get as low as ~$2,000 return, but that's rare and not usually on top-tier airlines like Qatar Airways.

Keep in mind that business class from Australia to Europe is usually around $6,000+ return.

That does make it interesting. I still rate the WY 787 J experience my favourite. Absolutely wonderful service and product. It appears that WY fly the A330 out of MNL, any idea of the quality/comfort?
Might have to search a few reviews when I get back to SYD tonight, the onboard wifi on EK413 is a tad slow this arvo

Oman Air offers quite good J fares direct from Perth to Europe as well. As low as $3500 return.
Just have to be careful to book the fares with MH for the PER-KUL sectors and not OD (shudder)!

DOH - FRA is now an A380. We were on that flight just a couple of weeks back in J. The QSuite though is amazing and, for my family, would be hard to fly anything else now that we've experienced it. Going from the Qusite to the QR A380 in J, felt like a downgrade to PE

It’s a real shame they pulled the pin on retrofitting QSuite to the A380s. That seat, that aircraft and the best bar in the sky. What a combo it could be!

Thanks for the post! Would love to try to grab the fare around Xmas. Any ideas how to get up to MNL cost effectively at around that time (even if having to fly into another Asian port and then booking a seperate flight to MNL?).

Or has anyone booked alternate dates to MNL from Oz and can share pricing?

Still 2 flights a day DOH-FRA. QR69 is still on the 777 which has Qsuites according to the QR website
