PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Currently there are only 8 seats left in J.
The upgrade fairy tells me if you are already in the queue your chances are good but if anyone else books in J or requests an upgrade it will depend on your status.
I am not sure whether your booked class affects upgrade priority or if it is just QFF status and date of request.
In any event the email about meals means nothing. The system will treat you according to the class of travel you booked unless and until the upgrade is processed.
yeah we are not sure either however platinum booked and travelling on flight so hopefully he’s closer to top of list in upgrade requests?

My upgrade came through this morning - thanks everyone!

Success for QF11 SYD-LAX on 6/08/2019, PE to Business, SMS at about T-27 hours.

Edit: Concerning though my points balance has been decreased by about 66,000 points when it should be 49,500 points, and the upgrade transaction does not appear on the activity statement.

Hi all,

Could someone kindly check reward seat availability on the flight below:

Wednesday August 7th
QF42 (Jakarta to Sydney)

Thank you

Here you are - QF1 daily from Sydney between 2nd and 9th of Nov... there's even a few award seat options if you're quick ('U' for J... Z for Y+), and that's much safer than gambling on the upgrade lotto.

Hi all,

I know it's still a while, but would like to ask for your help with loadings on QF36 SIN-MEL on 26/09, just hoping to see if any chances for an upgrade to PE or J.

Thanks :)

Looks reasonable with some good F availability that could open up some more J seats

I can't see any award availability on the Qantas site. I'm Gold so maybe that's the reason?
It's not your status - they just never last long! 'U' need to act faster! The only one of those above that is still available is a single seat on the Thursday flight - I tested this using a Silver QFF account and it's there for one to acquire. There's 2 x F seats as well (P class), if someone wants a pair in the nose:

I have 97,000 QFF points, 470 status credits and am Silver status.
What I want to know are opinions on the best/most efficient use of as many of my points as possible (+$$$ if necessary) to upgrade the SYD-DFW leg at least to a more comfortable seat with extra leg room as the highest possible priority. I am 187cm tall and leg room is important to me.
I can suffer the shorter legs in cattle class if I have to, but the SYD-DFW/DFW-SYD legs are going to be pure torture if I can't get somewhere more comfortable.

Obviously I would love to upgrade all the legs, but I realise I probably don't have enough points for that given Qantas's ridiculously inequitable point earn/burn ratio where you earn 10 points for taking a flight that will cost you 40,000 points to buy as a reward.

What are these flights, if someone knows the airline codes? I haven't booked these myself so I have no idea whether these are flexible economy, normal economy or discount economy? I'm assuming the later. Can anyone decode the details and tell me what these are in normal english please?

What would you do with this many points if these were your flights? Advice/opinions please.

Thanks
