SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

R or F no biggie on 7hr daytime flt - whilst I have had dozens of flts on 380 on 218 it is an absolute waste - daytime flts only for me now going forward which invariably means o/n in SIN en route PVG/PEK.

I fully understand every one wants to try new R - and I encourage that - but IMHO it is just not that good so no biggie if you don’t get it - go for it if you can get it at Saver rates but at Advantage rates a different ball game - it would be a rare occasion I would pay Advantage rates for new R.
I hope that eventually I would have done enough new suites that the novelty of "new has worn off and maybr ill be a old suite convert too

How would you rate/comment on sacrificing suites but flying day time in F in the 777 But not a380?

But it is seriously not a case of ‘novelty worn off’ - new R is just so full of faults that there is nothing spectacular about it - IMHO - I have only done 6 sectors in it but already could take it leave it - would much offer old R.

The Ette has only had 2 sectors in it and says she sees nothing spectacular about it. Nobody needs that ridiculous amount of real estate - it just screams ‘looka me - looka me!’

Talk to Crew and seek the feedback from other regular pointy end fliers and amazing how so many think the same.

I've only seen a few YouTube videos on it but it's amazing how something so gorgeous looking can be so criticized
I to my pleasant surprise had absolutely no complaints about the old Suites
Even though I went in with cynical eyes

Thanks, good to hear, I will be less scared to do 777 day time on F going fwd.
Scared? Why would you be scared? Have you flown SQ F on 777? It’s a spectacular product overall - SQ F soft product best in the sky - the hard product leaves nothing to be desired.

I flew 238 on 777 Jul 03 and it was equal to best exp I have ever had on any flt - food was superb - crew fantastic - 77WN product superb - easily as enjoyable as any flt in new R

Just want the best possible experience since I dont have the luxury to fly too often.

I have this image that 777 F was more like J in a new plane

Oops, I'm talking garbage today..

Yeah you can't experience new suites from Melbourne.
The next best is old suites (Yes some say old suites is better, but just for arguments sake)
And the only 380 is the 00:05 flight which means no caviar and a overnight flight

Let's hope this changes over this year or 2020

Ah, thanks. Just checking as we’re on it tonight!

Flew home on the new first last year from Paris- loved it. We are yet to try suites, decided the night flight (all we could get as our dates are tight) was still worth it. Flying home in J disappointingly! ;-)

You are perhaps over thinking this a little. SQ has plenty of flights with full fare paying pax that aren't operated by the A380. Those pax aren't paying full whack for a sub-standard product. The suites (old or new) may add to the experience, but not having one isn't going to have you leaving the flight disappointed.

Then it’s a no-brainer - SQ soft product does not vary across aircraft type - standard of service / food / drinks you receive on 380 same as 777 - most important thing is select flt timings that suit YOU - aircraft type should be secondary consideration - F on 777 can give equal or better exp as R on 380 if the flt timings suit. O/n flt on 380 or day flt on 777? 777 every day of the week.

SQ F monumental step up from J in any carrier - even their own J product pales into insignificance v their F product.

I've currently got F SYD-SIN-LHR booked.

If I call will they add a waitlisted SYD-SIN the day before my current flight to the booking?

Thays very reassurng and im glad to hear.
Looks like my next flight I will be prioritising departure time rather than type of plane:)

Can someone please enlighten as to meal sequence 308 SIN-LHR? Surely 09:00 SIN dep would mean first meal lunch and not brunch?

We’re booked (suites) on that flight, does the booking show this detail in the confirmation? I can’t see it on the app view.

Via PC it shows: SQ -->manage booking --> View rewards and select/change your seats, baggage, and meals --> manage. Individual flights show 'dinner' or 'supper' etc

Question for the Krisflyer guru's. I'm trying to find the lounge access and guesting rules for Krisflyer lounges in Singapore with no luck. Have tried the auto chat, with no luck. My question is, +1 and I have J Saver tickets BNE-SIN-FRA. We have 2 friends on the same flights, but booked in economy. I know i can access the KF lounge in SIN T3. Can we guest our 2 friends in based on our bookings? None of us have status with SQ.
