There are reports that you can now purchase additional guest access for £55 at the London lounge.

Source?

Is this an open offer to anyone that wants to purchase lounge access at the door? Or just for people exceeding their guest allowance?

I don't think I would pay ~$100 for entry to that lounge.

I guess if three of you were travelling but only two could go into the lounge it might be worthwhile?

Normally has reliable sources. But yes somewhat hearsay.
