Tas Uni posted two books to my house, 1 hour out of Hobart CBD.

Posted Hobart Monday 3 June
Tues 4 June. I got an e-mail from AustPost, saying delivery expected tomorrow, and a tracking link
Wed 5 June. No delivery, I clicked the link. The item has just been scanned in Melbourne. As AP won't talk to me, I told the Uni library about their wayward books (checked out to me already). They phoned AP and was told oops ... books on their way back, should be delivered Tues 11th.
Tues 11 June (edited). Nothing Checked tracking. Last scanned event was still Melbourne 5 June. Oh! but expected delivery tomorrow, 12th

Beyond a joke.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. I had to send a camera to Hobart from Adelaide, pretty straight forward I thought: 5 business days. Except that it was sent via Cairns - 14 business days!!!

Haven’t had any issues with AP of late, but fastway is beyond a joke.

When Fahour changed the Australia Post mail price we moved quickly to eliminate them as a key business supplier. Our five franking machines across Australia don’t get used much in 2019.

I now send parcels to niece, Wagga Wagga and Darwin, via DHL. Faster, better tracking and similar price.

Sent two parcels via Aussie post, one lost and one arrived smashed.

We use airbags for high value small cubic volume for overnight deliveries across Australia. Very reliable and quick. In most cases we have them picked up in the 4.00pm + time slot and usual delivery is about 10 am next day. Losses and damage have been very low but our staff are experienced at packing.

Currently tracking a parcel thats doing a Wally World tour of NSW. For something that only had to travel about 20klms, its done about 300+klms so far and still has a journey to travel until tomorrows estimated delivery.

Lodged an official complaint yesterday.
Qantas wine due to deliver. Had registered for “safe to leave at front door” which is sheltered. Dog indoors, mrsdoc home all day (literally - she didn’t leave the house today).
130pm email from Qantas wine - failed to deliver - card left.

Confirmed - dog indoors, mrsdoc home, no card in mailbox.

This is the third consecutive time Auspost has “non-delivered” when everything was in order (and this time I can guarantee all was in order at home so no excuses). And it’s happening at least 50% of deliveries in the last 6-12 months.

Sadly other delivery services aren’t overly better.

Yep. Received a few emails lately that a parcel is at some hole in the wall corner shop/agency in a dodgy part of town we dont visit/dont want to leave our car unattended for too long (and we have a PO Box at an actual Post Office nearby).

Lots of staff have their parcels delivered to the office these days.

Had a different experience with Qantas Wines earlier this week. They left my parcel on the front steps of my building, even though a signature was required.

I’d be inclined to blame Auspost and not QantasWine on that one.

Rest assured if the opportunity presents i’ll Be letting Qantas wine know what I think of their delivery provider....

Actually, upon checking seems it was Fastway not AP.

That seems about right for Fastway. Absolutely awful. I was home one day, saw the courier walk up the drive and before i could open the door I watched him throw the parcel down on the porch and literally run back to his van.

My parcel was delivered today, east coast Tas, sent from Hobart, an hour's drive away. I checked the tracking this morning, and nothing had been updated since it was scanned in Melbourne a week ago.

9 business days from lodgment to delivery, an hours drive away.

Picked up the wine. Had yet another discussion with the LPO staff regarding the delivery agent. Seems that one of the drivers regularly hits the LPO circa 2pm and the rest closer to / after 4pm. The area manager apparently has been toldbut “doesn’t have enough evidence”. Seems they’ve set up a sheet to write down addresses and names to “prove” the issue.

Will be interesting to see how the initial (via phone) complaint progresses. I have received both and emails and a text logging the case and a reference number.
