American Express in the USA has just added Qantas Frequent Flyer as a transfer partner. 500 US Amex points = 500 Qantas points.

Yet more competition for Qantas award seats... yay (not).

Yep... with so many quality programs partnering with Amex in the USA, I don't know why you would! (Unless you wanted to redeem for Emirates or El Al, perhaps.)

Alaska works for EK (though only to and from North America)

us amex card holder has many good transfer partners over there. They may not be interested in qantas transfer.
