Border Force taking boarding passes

No issues at all with boarding pass screenshots from the VA app today {or on many past occasions).

As normal, any issues appear to be QF specific problems....

Apparently QF don't accept screenshot boarding passes anymore due to the ability to make fraudulent copies of it.

Yet they accept printouts on paper of your online checkin. Even easier to edit a PDF for whatever you like (the possibilities of changing that QFF SILVER to something that gives lounge access comes to mind.....)

Obviously a typical QF act - inconsistent.

That doesn't work as the barcode contains the FF number only and when it is scanned at the lounge it will not show the status that shows on the edited pass.

For domestic lounges, they don't bother scanning boarding passes 99.99% of the time.

99% of the time they barely even do a cursory glance. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to get JLounge entry using an old boarding pass, provided that it had the word "business" on it and the correct departing airport (and provided it didn't look 5 years old). Of course, you'd need to do the walk of confidence as well, like you belonged.

You have to get a paper pass printed at the gate. It's rather coughbersome.

My last JQ flight SYD-OOL from international, I went to gate and said I've lost my boarding pass. She didn't look happy but printed another boarding pass.

JQ got to keep the stub, Border force the boardimg pass and I found the original boarding pass in my pocket after the flight.

Apologies. Border Force got the D sticker. I kept the boarding pass they printed at the gate.

I'll do the same again next time.

To me it is easier to save my bp to my phone 'wallet' as soon as I olci and remove that horrible moment at the gate when I have no internet. If for whatever reason the bp changes I save the new one as well.

Now to the dummy question: how do you do this in the first place, please? I have the QF app on my Android phone. What do I need and do next?

Wallet is an iPhone app, I don't think there is an Android equivalent
