Can I use Velocity points to redeem a Alitalia Flight?

Want to go from Brussels to Rome using Velocity Points.

Cant seem to do this search via Velocity website.

Yes, this is possible but you would need to call Velocity to make a booking.

If you have an Expert Flyer account, you can search there for award availability before calling.

Keep in mind that the fuel surcharges on Alitalia can be high, so if you're flying short-haul economy it's often not that much more expensive just to buy a ticket.

I’m flying ATH FCO tomorrow. Will see how well they recognise VA Plat status, although I think I will need to use priority pass for lounge access as they don’t host a lounge at ATH.

I believe Velocity status only grants access to AZ-operated lounges.

Yep correct so will need to use up a priority pass visit for the lounge there.
