Hi all,
Just wondering if the Air New Zealand code share agreement ever went into effect last October. When I browse flights on the Qantas website I either only see Jetstar or get redirected to the Jetstar site.

Trying to find out if NZ554 or NZ558 CHC-AKL on the 30th April are code share - I need to move an existing Jetstar flexible ticket but the NZ flights have better times for me. Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that you can only book QF codeshare on NZ flight if booked in conjunction with a QF transtasman flight

Your understanding is correct.

NZ operated but QF coded flights are only sold with an international ticket (normally AU-NZ QF operated flights) ... when selecting a NZ operated service the fare rules show:

REFER INTERNATIONAL FARE CONDITIONS
---
THIS FARE MUST BE ISSUED COMBINED WITH QF
INTERNATIONAL FARE - ON THE SAME TICKET.

QF allows the sale of two types of fares (on NZ operated services)...

1. Through fares like SYD-AKL-NSN (where it's a single fare SYD-NSN) - these generally allow up to 21 days as a stopover between the QF and NZ operated service. These are typically used for AU-NZ tickets.

2. Add ons where they add on the NZ segments to the ticket. Stop overs are not allowed and normally this is more expensive method. An example is AKL-NSN (Nelson) where the add on price is $135 + taxes.

Qantas don't publish a public list of all add ons, Air New Zealand do and it's worth noting that it's often more expensive to use the add ons. Under a single fare SYD-NSN is $290 (Q + O) (without taxes) however two fares SYD-AKL then AKL-NSN is $180 (Q) + $135 (O) = $315.

Thanks. So I'm travelling QF on BNE-CHC on the 27th, then QF AKL-BNE on the 4th May - so would this make me eligible to fly NZ on the 30th? Should I contact QF rather than book through the website?

Yes, you'll need to pay a change fee to add the flights to your existing booking.
