Mrs WF and I recently flew PER-DRW. The trip up allowed her AA miles to be "protected" for another 18 months and the points etc posted on AA in three days or so.
On the return I changed her FF entry at check in to the QFF number as there will likely be enough trips this year to permit an easy family transfer. Interestingly the points for the flight were in my account (with WP bonus) by the time we arrived in PER. Her points are yet to appear (30 hours later).
Do WPs get better action on posting of flights from QF? OR did the FF account change at check in build in a "natural delay"?

Interesting ... I have noticed no difference in posting times between WP and differently statused PAX on the same flight and booking.

Worst case in this situation is the FF number change went wrong.

Other than that all my QF flights in the last year or so have posted to my QF account same day as travel. But that was without changing at/after check in.

I'll keep checking both accounts and if nothing shows up on either I will submit a missing miles claim to QFF. I do have the boarding pass with the QFF account number.

I've seen the points for the same flights by two people on a PNR post at different times. While I wouldn't have said status made the difference, I have no idea why they posted at different times.

The real answer?
Trip was booked by son, using AA account. Name used was missing middle initial. AA FF account didn't care.
Apparently QF does, as account shows middle initial. I assume the check in agent could see the name (sort of) matched.

Happy wandering (eventually?)

Well the clock ticked over so that the flight date was "acceptable" and I registered for missing points.
About 12 hours later, the points appeared in the QFF account.
About 12 hours after that we got an email that the missing points application was denied.
The reason shown in the points activity bears no relation to the problem - to paraphrase - denied by partner

Happy wandering
